ReplyDeleteTEN REASONS WHY SHARI’AH IS SUPERIOR TO MAN MADE LAWS
There is no doubt that the one who created mankind, Allah (SWT) knows better how we function and about our needs, desires and wants. Humans are thinking living beings with instincts, desires and needs which require a system to fulfil these, a system that does not create chaos and which preserves the rights and duties of individuals and society as a whole. Below are just 10 points of how the Shari’ah (Islamic laws) benefit mankind when implemented.
1. Islam prohibits gambling, an addiction for many around the world. It is a growing industry where the rich exploit the poor. Many families are devastated by this addiction.
2. Islam prohibits all intoxicants. Alcohol is the cause of the majority of crimes and is the greatest waste of resources of the National Health Service, which has to deal with the consequences and impact associated with it. It is the mother of all evils. Many rapes, divorces and domestic violence are directly linked with alcohol.
3. Islam prohibits human beings to legislate laws. Rather all laws are derived directly from the divine scripture: the Qur’an and example of the Messenger Muhammad (saw). In this way man does not arrogate to himself sovereignty to legislate, rather this belongs solely to God (Allah). Hence all laws will be implemented without personal desires or gain.
4. Men and women must cover their bodies with clothing to the extent determined by God. For women that means everywhere apart from their face and hands and for men, at least from between the navel and knees. Any exploitation of the sexes is prohibited such as pornography or commercial adverts utilising the masculinity or femininity of people.
5. Only wholesome food is permitted by the Shari’ah. Animals are prohibited to be stunned (and hence tortured) and all blood must be drained before consuming them. Anything that is not wholesome and does not agree with the natural disposition (fitrah) is forbidden, such as pork.
6. Any deviation from the normal and natural relationship between a man and a woman as defined by God, within the confines of marraige, are forbidden. Including homosexuality, adultery and fornication. This preserves the dignity, lineage and honour of human beings.
7. Transactions which seek to exploit, deceive or cheat others or which deal with uncertainty and vagueness are prohibited. Hence insurance, dealing in stocks and shares, pensions, interest (usury) etc.. are outlawed. The target of all transactions must be based upon an agreement between two parties leading to satisfaction for both.
8. Any public manifestation diverting from the pure worship of the one true God is forbidden. Hence it is forbidden to display idols in public or statues eulogising people or build shrines and engage in grave worship.
9. Judges and courts not judging by Islamic laws are forbidden and there is no use of juries. Rather cases must be dealt with by competent judges who listen to cases and investigate the full facts themselves and who give verdicts in line with Shari’ah. There is no place for the facts of a case to be filtered by police, lawyers and judges and then for biased juries to decide guilt based on their own whims and desires.
10. Education will be fact based. There is no place in Islam to teach false ideas such as the evolution of humans from apes, or the creation of the universe by itself. Useless topics such as drama and music are not taught. Rather emphasis is placed on developing an Islamic personality that will lead to a generation of statesmen and stateswomen that will call for and live by Islam, and eventually spread Islam to all corners of the world.
