This refutation is in regards to the current
opinion of pseudo-Islamic organization and pseudo-Imaams (mainly in the
West) who have declared that it is permissible for Muslims to live in
accordance with a given period of time of the life of the Prophet
Muhammad (saws), such as the Makkan period, to the exclusion of other
periods of time of the Prophet’s (saws) life, such as the Medinan
period. In other words, these organizations and pseudo-Imaams
have essentially declared that it is permissible to live by a partial
Shar'iah instead of its totality, and as such, it is permissible to
disobey Allah and His Messenger (saws). This is in-and-of-itself an
opinion contrary to the Shar'iah of Allah and His Messenger (saws), and
it is not farfetched to judge anyone who holds and propagates such
opinions as entering a state of apostasy, to which one must repent in
order to return into a state of Islam/submission to Allah.
The objective of this is to warn people and to prevent them from dying upon kuffr, and consequently entering hellfire.
"And who does greater evil than he who is reminded of the signs of His Lord, then turns away from them? We shall take vengeance upon the criminals." [32:22]
The objective of this is to warn people and to prevent them from dying upon kuffr, and consequently entering hellfire.
"And who does greater evil than he who is reminded of the signs of His Lord, then turns away from them? We shall take vengeance upon the criminals." [32:22]
The
following are two Ayaat in the Quraan related to accepting and
implementing the entire body of laws from the Quraan and the Sunnah.
These following two Ayaat are considered by some scholars of the Quraan
from among the last Ayaat to be revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (saws).
"O
you who have believed, enter into Islam completely (and perfectly) and
do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is to you a clear
enemy." [2:208]
"This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion. But whoever is forced by severe hunger with no inclination to sin – then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful." [5:3]
The
above Ayaat clearly reveal the impressibility of accepting and
implementing revelation partially. To be averse to anything from the
Quraan, the Sunnah or the Shar'iah nullifies ones Islam because Allah
said:
"But those who
disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), for them is
destruction, and (Allah) will make their deeds vain." [47:8]
"That
is because they hate that which Allah has sent down (this Quraan and
Islamic laws, etc.), so He has made their deeds fruitless." [47:9]
Anyone who frequents a Masjid or follows an Imaam
propagating such opinions must immediately seize to attend/participate
and support in any way including the attendance of congregational
prayers, lectures, etc., and to immediately stop following such an
Imaam.
The
Muslim must be upon the entire message of Islam, and it is not
permissible for him/her to pick and choose. The Muslim must be on the
Islam or Shar'iah which the Prophet (saws) left for us upon his death,
with no exclusion of any period of his life. The following verses of the
Quraan and Ahadith clearly state the necessity of following the entire
message, while these so-called Islamic organizations and Imaams bring no evidence from the sources of Islam for their ludicrous declaration. Allah says in the Quraan:
"Then
do you believe in a part of the Scripture and reject the rest? Then
what is the recompense of those who do so among you, except disgrace in
the life of this world, and on the Day of Resurrection they shall be
consigned to the most grievous torment. And Allah is not unaware of what
you do."[2:85]
"It
is not for a believer, man or woman, when Allah and His Messenger have
decreed a matter that they should have any option in their decision. And
whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger, he has indeed strayed in a
plain error." [33:36]
"And whatsoever the Messenger (Muhammad) gives you, take it, and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain (from it)." [59:7]
The Prophet Muhammad (saws) said: “None
of you believes (has Imaan) until his desire or inclination is in
accordance with what I have brought or subservient to what I came with.”
[Imaam An-Nawawi says: We have related it in Kitab al-Hujjah with a Sahih chain of narrators]
The Prophet Muhammad (saws) also said: "So
for you is to observe my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the
rightly-principled and rightly-guided successors, holding on to them
with your molar teeth. Beware of newly-introduced matters, for every
innovation (bid’ah) is an error.” [At-Tirmidhi - Graded Sahih]
Clearly,
the above Ahadith command us to take everything from the Prophet (saws)
during his entire life/mission in both Makkah and Madinah, and
including the commands of the Rightly guided caliphs. They by no means
suggest even remotely that we pick and choose in accordance with certain
periods of time of the Prophet’s (saws) life.
And indeed Allah alone knows best !
