You Must Fix Up What Is Between You and Your Lord !!!

The questioner asks: I am distant from Allah and want steadfastness, and to be practising, but I find it hard with no friends to help or family; so what is your advice to me? May Allah reward you.

Shaykh Muhammad Mukhtar ash-Shinqitee replied:
I advise you and myself with the consciousness of Allaah; and know, that the persons lifespan is in the hands of Allah, and that a person can not be secure from death between night and morning; and I advise you to save yourself and to return to your Lord, and not care about what you may face from friends and family.

Who said that guidance requires there to be someone accompanying you? Will it harm you to have no one, if Allah is with you?

The companions of Moosa said:
“Surely we are caught.” He said, “No, indeed Allaah is with me, He will guide me!” [26:61-62]

Allah is with you. Whom are you turning to?

You are turning to the Ever-Living, to the King of Kings. The Compeller of the heavens and earth. The Lord of the first and the last. He is in control of your life, your death, your wealth, your poverty, your glory, your humiliation, your disgrace, your honour. He is in control of everything.

Do you fear if you are guided? Do you fear if you start practising? If you are living now in this blessing, while you disobey Allah, then how would it be if you obey Allah?

Do not assume bad of Allah; for by Allah, if you obey Him and love Him, He will make for you a source of relief and a way out, and if you are alone, within your family and society, then Allah will accompany you in your loneliness. And He will strengthen your heart, and make it firm with His guidance.

Do not care (about others’ perception), and you must turn to the Maker. And you must fix up what is between you and your Lord. How do you know, that the ones you see, of the sinners, from your family, it may be that Allah will guide them through you.

Do you not know, that this religion was in the darkness of a small cave, sent down with the faithful spirit (Jibreel) to the heart of the leader of the Messengers (saws). And see how he lead with it the world, and his name became widely mentioned.
The muezzins call:
“I bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.”
This is the religion of Allah.
And mercy and honour are in the hands of Allah, so turn to Him. You were not created except for this - to worship Allah. So refrain from feeling lonely, and from belittling yourself, and do not underestimate your acts of obedience; but know that Allah will lift you from misguidance, and will give you glory, and remove your disgrace, and He will compensate, and reward you… for He is the best of compensator’s. He will compensate His slave with every good in his deen and dunya - so have glad tidings from Allah.

Ibraheem (as) stood in front of his people - those who were close to him and distant, as to say: “La Ilaaha Ila Allah.”
And everyone had rejected him, and in the end, they gathered to try to kill him; and the fire was lit in defense of their shirk, and he was thrown into this fire. And he had completed his faith and certainty in the Most Merciful, and he said:
“Allah is sufficient for me, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs.”
Allah said:
“O fire! Be you cool and safe for Ibraheem.” [21:69]
Ponder (over his situation); at first he left his land (saying), “I am going towards my Lord; He will be my guide.” He left the land of his father, family and loved ones, so Allah gave him, in return, the Holy Land - a land more blessed and pure. And Allah made his successors, in the house of Allah - look at how Allah gave him succession in the land; and Allah gave him good mention among the later generations.
With all that, Allah made from his progeny a line of prophets and messengers. This is all from Allah - to the monotheists, the obedient ones.

When you are obedient to Allah do not feel humiliation, and do not feel as though you are weak; and if the whole world, and trials surround the people, then know, that you are the dearest to Allah.
And if they feel rich with the duniya then know that you will be content with Allah. And if they seek glory by disobeying Allah, know that glory is reached through obedience. Do not feel weakness, emptiness or failure; you refrain from repentance, because you face a trial or test, or if you are doing a good deed, you leave it (because of trials).

No! By Allah, “surely Allah makes not the reward of the good-doers to be lost.”
And He does not make his pious believers to be lost; rather, He is the Most Merciful, Gracious towards them, and indeed He prepares for them, plans for them and protects them - so be among them and do not be among anyone else.

So have glad tidings, and turn to obedience and start practising, even if no one of your family is accompanying you; and whoever turns to his Lord, indeed he is successful.

I ask Allah, with all His Glory and Might, to keep us firm on His obedience. I ask Allah to keep us firm on that which He loves and is pleased with.
O Allah, guide us to the guidance of the righteous and put us on the path of the good ones, and favour us night and day; and gather us with the group of the pure, chosen ones. O the Most Merciful, O You who is The One, The Dominant.
And the conclusion of our prayer is: Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds - Ameen Ya Rabb.
