Introduction
Since the attack of September 11, 2001, the United States and its allies, as part of their war on “terror”, have been working rigorously to promote and establish an Islam which is compatible with Western/modern values, idea and ideals, as one of the several ways to fight the “ideology” of those who attacked the United States on September 11, 2001. As a result, the vast majority of masajid (mosques) in the West and elsewhere have joined this effort, which has turned the vast majority of masajid into frontline organizations dedicated to fighting the Islam of those who strive to adhere to the of Islam of the Prophet Muhammad (saws) and the first three generations of followers. As such, these so-called masajid should be considered the harmful masajid which are referred to in the Quraan. Allah says:
"And (there are) those (hypocrites) who took for themselves a mosque for causing harm and disbelief and division among the believers and as a station for whoever had warred against Allah and His Messenger before. And they will surely swear, “We intended only the best.” And Allah testifies that indeed they are liars." [9:107]
Therefore, it is prohibited to attend or support in any way the masajid promoting and establishing a Western/Modern Islam, which is a distortion and rejection of the purest form of Islam of the Prophet Muhammad (saws) and the first three generations of followers.
Explanation
What is Western/Modern Islam? Briefly, it is a version of Islam that has been made void of the Aqeedah (creed) and Manhaj (methodology) of the first three generations of the followers of Prophet Muhammad (saws), who are those whose understanding and practice (of Islam) cannot be surpassed by any generation. There is no question that this Western/Modern Islam is pure kuffr. Allah says:
"Indeed, those who disbelieve in Allah and His messengers and wish to discriminate between Allah and His messengers and say, “We believe in some and disbelieve in others,” and wish to adopt a way in between." [4:150]
Allah also says:
"So do you believe in part of the Scripture and disbelieve in part? Then what is the recompense for those who do that among you except disgrace in worldly life; and on the Day of Resurrection they will be sent back to the severest of punishment." [2:85]
As for the aqeedah of Western/Modern, it is void of al-Wala (loyalty to Allah, His Messenger and the believers) and al-Bara (disloyalty to anyone who opposes Allah, and His Messenger and the believers). Your loyalty must be to Western/Modern values, ideas and ideals, and to anyone who espouses such values, ideas and ideals, regardless of their religious beliefs or nationality. And Allah says:
"O you who have believed, do not take as intimates those other than yourselves, for they will not spare you (any) ruin. They wish you would have hardship. Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, and what their breasts conceal is greater. We have certainly made clear to you the signs, if you will use reason." [3:118]
As for the manhaj of this Western/modern, it excludes jihad and any idea or action that would fulfill the requirement to make Islam prevalent and victorious over all other religions or ways of life. Allah says:
"It is He Who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islam), to make it superior over all religions even though the Mushrikun (polytheists, pagans, idolaters, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah) hate (it)." [9:33]
The Prophet (saws) said: “I have been ordered to fight against the people until they testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and until they establish the salaah and pay the zakaat. And if they do that then they will have gained protection from me for their lives and property, unless (they commit acts that are punishable) in Islam, and their reckoning will be with Allah.” [Bukhari and Muslim]
This Western/Modern Islam has to conform with Western/Modern values, ideas and ideals. It has to fit with a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic and multi-religious societies. The Islam of the first three generations of Muslims is incompatible with Western/Modern Islam and all that it stands for and stands against.
The Proponents
The agenda of the proponents of Western/modern Islam is being implemented primarily by groups of educated and secular “Muslim” elites who are supporters and propagators of democracy and liberalism. Their agenda is being implemented through different types of masajid, which can be recognized by the following Islamic law violations and actions and speech which are outright apostasy:

2 - Inviting political candidates to campaign in the masajid.
Allah says:
"But those who (willingly) open their breasts to disbelief, upon them is wrath from Allah, and for them is a great punishment;" [16:106]
If you are identified in these masajid as being someone who is not on board with the Western/Modern agenda, you risk being reported to the authorities and monitored (by such authorities), and attempts will be made to entrap you. Perhaps the same will happen to anyone who does not show any outward signs of being in favor of this Western/Modern Islam.
Conclusion
Those of us who stand against this type of fake and distorted Islam, must be 100% averse to attending these gatherings of kuffr and misguidance. Attending such masajid could put you on the authority’s radar-screen, and your presence in such masajid would lend support and credence to the misguided agenda of the proponents of Western/modern Islam.
Do not attend any prayers, including Jumu’ah in such places, and do not provide any kind of material support. Try to identify Muslims like yourself, and organize a Jumu’ah (of no less than three people, including the khateeb) at someone’s home, garage, place of business, etc. If you are unable to do so, you should perform your Dhuhr prayer instead of attending Jumu’ah at one of these masajid, as this would most definitely be the permissible choice. Allah says:
"And it has already been revealed to you in the Book (this Quraan) that when you hear the Verses of Allah being denied and mocked at, then sit not with them, until they engage in a talk other than that; (but if you stayed with them) certainly in that case you would be like them. Surely, Allah will collect the hypocrites and disbelievers all together in Hell," [4:140]
We are not even allowed to sit with people who deny and mock the verses of Allah (according to the above verse from the Quraan). Is it not more evil to frequent the masajid actively involved in changing Allah’s religion?
Furthermore, al-Imaam al-Qurtubī said: “The scholars have said that certainly, the one who is an Imaam for an oppressive ruler, no prayer is to be made behind him, except if he reveals his excuse (for his treachery) or repents from it.” [Tafsīr al-Qurtubī, al-Jāmi’ li-Ahkām al-Qur’ān), 10/373]
"...And be not with the disbelievers." [11:42]
2 - Inviting political candidates to campaign in the masajid.
3 - Forging all kinds of alliances with the disbelievers.

- Defaming and discrediting Muslims around the world who adhere to the
Islam of the Prophet Muhammad (saws) and the first three generations of
followers.
5 - Defending the disbelievers when attacked by Muslims in their defense of Islam and Muslims.
Allah says:
"But those who (willingly) open their breasts to disbelief, upon them is wrath from Allah, and for them is a great punishment;" [16:106]

position of Imaam al-Qurtubi is merely for an oppressive ruler (who is
Muslim). Can you imagine praying behind an Imaam who calls to disbelief?
Allah says:
"And do not incline toward
those who do wrong, lest you be touched by the Fire, and you would not
have other than Allah any protectors; then you would not be helped."
[11:13]"...And be not with the disbelievers." [11:42]
Again,
do not attend any prayers, including Jumu’ah in such places, and do not
provide any material support of any kind. Try to identify Muslims like
yourself, and organize a Jumu’ah of no less than two people, including
the khateeb (as this is the position of al-Imaam al-Qurtubī) at
someone’s home, garage, place of business, etc. If you are unable to do
so, you should perform your Dhuhr prayer instead of attending Jumu’ah at
one of these masajid, as this would most definitely be the permissible
as well as the less harmful choice.
