What was the context for the unrestricted Takfeer on 3rd Nullifier? Here’s another example;

Imām Muhammad Ibn ‘Abdil-Wahhāb (Died 1208AH) mentioned in “Ad-Durar as-Saniyyah” (8/117-119):
❝The 6th situation: The apostasy incident after the Prophet’s (saws) death. Whoever has heard about it, yet an atom weight of doubt remains with him from the Shayātīn who are called ‘Ulamā’, which is their statement that this is “shirk”, however they say Lā ilāha ilā Allāh, and whoever says this isn’t to be made Takfeer upon for whatever he does.

And even greater than this and more tremendous, is their acknowledgement that the bedouins don’t act upon any of the symbols of Islām, however they say Lā ilāha ilā Allāh, and due to this statement, they are part of Islām, and Islām has declared their wealth and blood unlawful (to take), despite them admitting they abandoned everything of Islām, while these (devils) know that they deny the Ba’th (resurrection), and mocking whoever affirms it, and making fun of the legal rulings, and giving precedence to the Dīn of their fathers which contradicts the Dīn of the Prophet (saws).

Despite all this, these ignorant most wicked Shayātīn claim that the bediouns are upon Islām, even if all these (nullifiers) occurred with them, since they say Lā ilāha ilā Allāh.

What is implied from their statement is that the Jews are upon Islām, since they also testify (Lā ilāha ilā Allāh). Furthermore, the kuffr of these people is more severe than the kuffr of the Jews by an abundant amount of times, and who I meant are these bediouns which have been described with what we have mentioned.

What further clarifies this matter from the apostasy incident, is that the murtaddīn varied in their apostasy. So you’ll find some of them who rejected the Prophet (saws) and returned back to worshipping idols, and they said if he was a prophet, he wouldn’t have died.

And there are others who testified the Shahādatayn (belief in Allāh and the Prophet), however they also believe in the prophet-hood of Musaylimah, assuming that the Prophet (saws) shared prophet-hood with him, as Musaylimah brought some false testifiers who testified him with that, so many people believed him in that claim.

Yet despite this, the scholars have unanimously agreed that they are apostates, even if they were ignorant about that, and that whoever doubts in their apostasy is also a kāfir.

If you know that the scholars unanimously agreed that those who rejected the Prophet (saws) and returned back to worshipping idols and defaming the Messenger of Allāh (saws), and those who believed in the prophet-hood of Musaylimah on the spot, even if he remained upon every single matter of Islām, and those who affirmed the Shahādatayn and believed in Tulayha in his claim of prophet-hood, and others who believed in a-‘Insī from San’ā’, all of these people, every single scholar agreed they are apostates.

And there are another type, you have al-Fujā’ah as-Sulamī when he visited Abū Bakr, and he told him he wants to fight the apostates, requesting Abū Bakr to support him, so Abū Bakr provided him with weapons and cavalries.

Then as-Sulamī subjected the Muslim and kāfir, taking their wealth. Thus, Abū Bakr prepared an army to fight him, so when as-Sulamī felt an army coming towards him, he said to its Amīr, “You’re the Amīr of Abū Bakr and I am his Amīr, I haven’t disbelieved.”

So he said if you’re truthful, drop your weapons, so he dropped them and was sent back to Abū Bakr, and Abū Bakr ordered that he be burnt with fire while he’s alive.

If this was the judgement of the Sahābah in respect to his man, despite him affirming the 5 pillars of Islām. So imagine the case with someone who doesn’t affirm from Islām except a single statement, that he says Lā ilāha ilā Allāh upon his tongue, while explicitly denying its meaning, and claiming this is the Dīn that suits our time, and our Dīn is the Dīn of our fathers.

Then you have these most wicked of ignorant devils who give fatwās that these people are Muslims, even if they claim all of this, since they said Lā ilāha ilā Allāh, Glory be to you (O Allāh), what an enormous slander this is.

And how excellent is what one of the bediouns have stated when he came to us and heard a few things related to Islām, he said; I testify that we were kuffār — i.e. him and all of the bediouns — and I testify that the one who willingly calls us Islām is a kāfir, may Allāh praise our master Muhammad among the Exalted assembly of angels.❞
