"…those who disbelieve, fight in the path of Taghout. So fight against
the allies of shaytaan; undoubtedly the plan of shaytaan is weak."
And the meaning of Taghout is what Ibnul-Qayyim stated:
“Taghout is anything by which the slave transgresses the limits through
worship, following, or obedience. Thus, the Taghout of any people is he
whom they seek judgment from other than Allah and His Messenger (saws), or whom they worship alongside Allah, or whom
they follow without guidance from Allah, or whom they obey in what they
do not know to be in obedience to Allah. These are the Tawagheet of the
world; if you were to contemplate them and, at the same time,
contemplate the condition of the people, you would see that most people
have turned from the worship of Allah to the worship of Taghout, from
seeking judgment from Allah and His Messenger (saws) to seeking judgment from Taghout, and from obeying and following Allah and His Messenger (saws), to obeying and
following the Taghout...”
And ash-Shaykh Muhammad Ibn ‘Abdul-Wahhab said: “The
word Taghout is general. So everything that is worshipped besides Allah,
while being pleased with this worship – whether it is something
worshipped, someone followed, or someone obeyed in the absence of
obedience to Allah and His Messenger, then that is considered Taghout.
The Tawagheet are many, but their heads are five:
The First: The shaytaan who calls the people to worship other than Allah. The proof for this is His saying:
"Did I not command you O children of Ādam, that you should not
worship the shaytaan. Verily, he is a plain enemy to you." [36:60]
"Have you not seen those (hypocrites) who claim to believe in that
which has been revealed to you, and that which was revealed before you,
and they wish to go for judgement (in their disputes) to the Taghout,
when they have been ordered to reject them? But the shaytaan wishes to
lead them far astray." [4:60]
The Third: The one who judges by other than what Allah has revealed, and the proof for this is His saying;
"And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed, then they are the disbelievers." [5:44]
The Fourth: The one who claims to have knowledge of the Unseen, apart from Allah. The proof for this is His saying:
"He alone is the All-Knower of the Unseen, and He does not disclose His Unseen matters to anyone." [72:26-27]
And He says:
"And with Him lie the keys to the Unseen, no one knows them but He.
And He knows whatever there is in the land and in the sea; not a leaf
falls except that He knows about it. There is not a grain in the
darkness of the earth, nor anything fresh or dry, but that it is written
in a Clear Record." [6:59]
The Fifth: The one who is worshipped apart from Allah, while being
pleased with being worshipped. The proof for this is His saying:
"And whoever amongst them says: ‘Verily, I am an ilah besides Him
(Allah)’, then this person’s recompense will be the Hellfire. That is
the way we recompense the wrongdoers." [21:29]
And ash-Shaykh Muhammad Hamid al-Fiqi said: “That
which we find in the statements of the Salaf (ra) is
that the Taghout is whatever deviates the slave away and prevents him
from the worship of Allah, being sincere to Him in the Deen, in obeying Allah and His Messenger (saws), whether that is
from the shayātīn of Jinn or from the shayātīn of Ins (humans), trees,
rocks and other than them. Included in this without any doubt: Judging
and ruling by man-made laws that are foreign to Islām and its Shari’ah
in all different matters that man has to placed to judge in such as
issues of blood, honor and wealth. Ruling and judging by these laws is
the abolishment of the Laws of Allah; from establishing the Hudood,
forbidding riba, khamr and others which are allowed in these laws and
protected by laws that facilitate its spreading and implementation.
Thus, these laws are a Taghout and those who legislate and spread them
are also Tawagheet. This ruling includes all the likes of laws in every
book that is man-made as these books divert the people from the truth
that the Prophet (saws) came with; whether on
purpose or not, it is a Taghout.”
And ‘Abdul-Qadir Ibn ‘Abdul-‘Aziz said: “The general
apparent meaning of Taghout is everything that is worshipped besides Allah. As for a deeper analysis and explanation then there are two types
of Tawagheet mentioned in the Texts of the Qur’aan and Sunnah: the Taghout
in terms of worship and the Taghout in terms of judgement.
١. The Taghout in terms of worship is referred to in His saying:
"Those who avoid the Taghout by not worshipping them…"
Which is everything that is worshiped besides Allah whether it is shaytaan or men, alive or dead, an animal, a tree, a stone, or a planet.
That is in regards when one offers sacrifices for it, calls upon it,
makes Salaah for it besides Allah or obeys and follows it in opposition
to the Law of Allah. But it is restricted from the words, “what is
worshipped besides Allah,” by the words, “and being pleased with that,”
to remove those such as ‘Isa Ibn Maryam (as) and others from
amongst the Prophets, Angels and righteous who are worshipped besides Allah but are not pleased with that, not one of them is named a Taghout.
Ibn Taymiyyah said: “And He says:
"And the Day when He wll gather them all together, then He will say
to the angels: ‘Was it you that these people used to worship?’ They will
say: ‘Glorified are You! You are our Wali instead of them. No, but they
used to worship the jinn, most of them were believers in them.’"
Meaning that the Angels did not order for that but rather it was the
jinn that ordered them to be slaves of these idols, as there are
shayateen for these idols (living inside), similarly to how the shayateen
possess those who worship planets until one of the shayateen is revealed
and speaks to him, and it is a shaytaan from the shayateen. This is why He says:
"Did I not command you, O children of Adam, that you should not
worship shaytān? Verily, he is a plain enemy to you. And that you should
worship Me. That is the straight path. And indeed he did lead astray a
great multitude of you, Did you not then understand?"
And He saying:
"Will you then take him and his offspring as protectors and helpers
rather than Me while they are enemies to you? What an evil is the
exchange for the dhalimoon.”
٢. The Taghout in terms of judgement, and it is taken from His Saying: "…they wish to go for judgement to the Taghout…"
And it is everything that is sought judgement from besides Allah,
whether a constitution or systems or ruling by other than what Allah revealed whether from a ruler or a judge and other than them.”
Based
upon all that, it is undoubtedly clear that America is a Taghout, the
security council is a Taghout, the united nations is a Taghout,
international laws set by them is a Taghout, and that the
contemporary governments like what has passed are Tawagheet. In this Ayah
He clearly shows that those who disbelieve fight in the path
of the Taghout, and are allies of the shaytaan.
Whoever fights under the banner of America is a Kaafir, whoever fights
under the banner of Britain is a Kaafir, whoever assists in transporting
their soldiers is a Kaafir, whoever opens airports for them is a Kaafir,
whoever protects them is a kafir, whoever assists in transporting their
ammunition onto trucks is a Kaafir, etc. Whoever fights with them then he
is from them, whether he fits the description by his hand or his tongue
or his opinion or his fatawa or his articles or his positions. The
Messenger of Allah (saws) said: “Fight the
mushrikeen with your wealth, yourselves, and your tongues.” And he (saws) said: “Allah will enter three person into
Jannah for one arrow: the maker when he has a good motive in making it,
the one who shoots it, and the one who hands it…”
The Ayah is proof that those who help this coalition in their fight
against the Muslimīn with any kind of aid then he is from the allies of
the shayateen al-kafireen.
‘Abdul Qadir ‘Abdul ‘Aziz says after citing this Ayah [4:76]: So
everyone who fights to defend a Kaafir ruler or constitution or Kaafir system – as the helpers of the apostate rulers do – then he has fought
in the path of the Taghout, and everyone who fights in the path of the Taghout is a Kaafir.
Allah said: “And those who disbelieve fight in the path of the Taghout.”
And what is included within this: is fighting with speech or actions
as we have quoted from Ibn Taymiyyah, and ponder over Allah’s statement:
“So fight against the allies of the shaytaan.”
For
this clarifies to you that the Taghout in essence is the shaytaan
who calls towards Kuffr, and that whoever fights in the path of the
Taghout, then he is in essence only fighting in the path of the
shaytaan,
and this is also from the aspect of re-assuring their disbelief, for
verily the allies of the shaytaan are the disbelievers, as Allah said:
“And those who disbelieve, their ally is the Taghout.” [2:257]
And Allah said: “Verily, We made the devils allies to those who do not believe.” [8:27]
So this is from the most clearest of proofs pertaining the Kuffr of
the helpers of the apostate rulers by speech, such as some of the evil
Scholars and journalists, and by action like the soldiers with their
various kinds, that they fight in the path of the Taghout, and whoever
fights in his path is a kaafir, and ruling upon them all with kuffr
doesn’t have to necessitate them directly being involved in the
fighting, or that fighting occurs, rather everyone who was designated as
an intermediary of these rulers for fighting on their behalf, and on
behalf of their kuffr ruling systems – which is the path of the Taghout –
then he is a kaafir.
And if Allah has
ruled upon the one who seeks judgement to the Taghout with disbelief,
then how about the one who fights alongside him and in
his path?”
I say: Indeed “The Peninsula Shield Force” or other than them whom
fight today alongside America, entering within this verse is from the
most clearest of matters that no one doubts of, except whomever Allah has blinded his vision and deafened his ears and deviated his heart, O Allah keep us firm upon the Haqq until we meet you, O Lord do not
deviate our hearts after you have guided us, and bestow upon us from
your mercy, verily you are the Wahhab (All-Bestower).
