Allah guaranteed to preserve and protect the Shari'ah until the Day of Judgement, from time to time people with distorted views will emerge to misguide the people away from the truth. However, their hopes and anguishes will never be successful because Allah has promised to protect the Deen from any misguidance and corruption.
Allah said,
"Verily We: It is We Who have sent down the Dhikr (i.e. the Qur'aan) and surely, We will guard it (from corruption)." [al-Hijr 15:9]
The Shari'ah of Allah is a Hujjah (established evidence) against all the creation. None can make excuse that they were not aware, or their parents did not tell them about the Shari'ah. This is because Allah has personally guaranteed to protect it from any deviation (unlike the Judaism and Christianity). Allah sent the Anbiyaa' as bearers of good news and warners against the torment of Allah.
Allah said,
"Messengers as bearers of good news as well as of warning in order that mankind should have no plea against Allah after the Messengers. And Allah is All Powerful, All Wise." [an-Nisaa' 4:165]
As stated in the verse, the reason (for sending Prophets) was to establish the hujjah upon the people so that they cannot return on the Day of Judgement and concoct false excuses.
Hujjah means to establish and provide the proof on a matter so that a person has no excuse to divert away from the path of the Salaf regarding the matter.
We learn from the verse (4:165), if the reason for sending the Prophets was to establish the hujjah regarding the truth for the people, then it is impossible for there to be any distortion in Shari'ah because the distortion can never be used as an evidence for the truth. And since Muhammad Ibn ‘Abdillāh (saws), the Imām of the Muwahhidīn is the final Messenger of Allah (saws), then the Shari'ah is also the final Shari'ah that must serve as hujjah for mankind until the Day of Judgement.
The Shari'ah to be called the Shari'ah of Haqq must be free from any distortion, discrepancy and corruption.
It is a known fact that no other book has been given special attention like the Qur'aan. The Muslim Ummah went through great lengths to ensure that the Qur'aan that is currently accessible is exactly the same as the one revealed to the Messenger Muhammad (saws); even the Kuffaar acknowledge to this fact. Also there has been no other Sunnah of any Prophet or companions which have been given special attention like the Sunnah of Muhammad (saws) and his Companions (ra).
The science of 'Uloom ul-Hadeeth was developed specifically to ensure that whatever is attributed to the Messenger and his Companions (ra) are in actual fact what they said, did or consented to.
Mu'aawiyah (ra) said,
“I heard the Prophet (saws) saying, 'A group of people amongst my followers will remain obedient to Allah's orders and they will not be harmed by anyone who will not help them or who will oppose them, till Allah's Order (the Last Day) comes upon them while they are still on the right path.'“ [Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 56, Number 835 and in Muslim]
It has been reported that Imaam ash-Shaatibi (rh) said,
“This Shari'ah is blessed and infallible the way the one who brought it is infallible (Muhammad) and the way his Ummah (i.e. his Companions) gathered together upon (i.e. to compile the Qur'aan, conveyance of the message, commanding good forbidding evil etc.) is infallible.” [Reported in al-Muwaafaqaat]
