Why do we Need the Khilafah?

The presence of a demand by a handful of parties who asked that the government should dissolve the Islamic organizations that called for the Khilafah, surely ought to be questioned. Considering that the obligation of establishing the Khilafah is a shar’ie obligation which has clear daleels based on the Qur’an, Sunnah and Ijma’ of the Companions. It is not surprising that the madhab imams and the ulama’s agreed on the obligation.

Imam al-Qurthubi in his tafseer, al-Jâmi’ li Ahkâm al-Qur`ân stated that there is no difference of opinion among the ummah, as well as the ulama’s, about the wajib ruling on appointing a Khalifah, except that was reported from Al-Asham, who indeed is Asham (deaf) from the shari’ah. In tune with that, Imam an-Nawawi in his kitab, Sharah Saheeh Muslim wrote that the ummah and the ulama’s had agreed on this obligation.

The existence of a Khilafah is absolutely necessary in relation to three important matters in Islam.
First, the obligation of the implementation of Islamic Shari’ah in kaffah (fullness) which is the consequence of a Muslim’s imaan. It is impossible for it to become a reality without the existence of the Khilafah. Because, only the system of Khilafah has a clear pillar, namely sovereignty in the hands of shara’ (Islamic) law.

While other systems like democracy, kingdom or theocracy handed over the sovereignty of the source of law to men.

“Castrate them!” “Burn them!” “Bullet in the head!”: Facebook Israelis react to photo of Palestinian kids!!!

An image of three Palestinian boys sparked an outpouring of violent and sadistic fantasies after it was reposted to an Israeli Facebook page (Original source and screenshot of context). (Shadi Hatem)

Having regularly documented the horrifying racism and violent fantasies frequently expressed by Israelis on Facebook or Instagram, I thought I had seen everything. But this may be the worst yet. On Wednesday, the picture above of three Palestinian boys in a tent was posted on a popular Facebook page titled in Hebrew “We are all in favor of death to terrorists.” Under the picture is the following caption:
Arab boys in the illegal Arab outpost established near Maale Adumim. What should the Israeli army do to them?
This is an apparent reference to the peaceful “Bab al-Shams” encampment established by Palestinians near Jerusalem to protest Israel’s plans to seize more land for settlements. The protest was timed to coincide with the visit of US President Barack Obama. “Run the tent over with a truck/Merkava tank/a bus/ whatever it takes to crush and kill these children,” suggested Facebook user Lidor Swisa.

Tafsir Surah Fatiha

surah al fatihah Surah Fatiha The Opening (The first Chapter)
By Sheikh Abdullah al-Faisal

All praise is due to Allah, lord of the worlds.  We seek refuge in Allah from the evil of ourselves and the bad consequences of our actions. I testify to the fact that there is no deity worthy of worship but Allah. And I also testify to the fact that Muhammad (saw) is His last Prophet and Messenger.

Brothers and sisters in Islam Allah has blessed us to witness another day of Jumua.  This day is the eid of the week. It is the day Adam was placed in the garden, it is the day he was thrown out from the garden. It is the day Allah shall command His angel Israfeel to blow in the trumpet, hence Judgment Day shall take place on a Friday.

Today we shall be doing the tafseer of the greatest Surah of the Holy Qur’an i.e. surah Fatiha.  This surah is called; sab’a mathani, the 7 often repeated verses. It is called al umm, the mother of the book, because it is the most important surah in the Holy Qur’an. It is also called ash shifaa, the cure because it cures people of their ailments when it is recited over them.  A sahaba recited surah Fatiha over the leader of an Arab tribe who was bitten by a dangerous scorpion and he was about to die. But he was cured by the recitation of surah Fatiha over him.

It is haram to pray salah behind a person who cannot recite surah Fatiha with the correct pronunciation.  It is haram to recite surah Fatiha in a language other than Arabic during salah. It is haram to leave off surah fatiha in a rakah when performing salah.

Al-Nawaqhid-ul-Islam (Negations of Islam)

At-Tabarani upon the authority of Mua’dh bin Jabal (ra), the Prophet (PBUH) said, “‘Verily the Grinder of Islam will continue to grind, so continue with the Qur’an wherever it moves (i.e. stick to the Qur’an). Verily the Qur’an and the authority (of Islam) will be separated from each other, do not leave the Qur’an. There will be rulers amongst you, who will allow for themselves things which they will prevent for you. If you disobey them then they will kill you. If you obey them they will misguide you.’ They (as-Sahabah) asked, ‘What do we do in such a situation?’ He (PBUH) said, ‘Do as the apostles of Isa ibn Maryam (ra) did; they were cut by saws and hung upon wood. Being killed in obedience to Allah is better than a life of sin.’” [At-Tabarani, Mu’jam al-Kabeer]

Indeed there can be no doubt that the Ummah of Islam is living in a time of great fitnah, a time when the world has been divided into two clear camps opposing each other, with nothing in the middle except hypocrisy. Today we find many men have left the camp of Islam into the camp of kufr, but still many from the Ummah are continuing to support them because they are unaware of the Nawaaqhid of Islam.

Hence we have prepared this essential topic for the Ummah (Imaam Shafii Mentioned over 300 negations of Imaan - Imaam Ahmed mentioned even more).

Al-Nawaqhid-ul-Islam Ashraa (The 10 Negations of Islam)

Keeping Sins a Secret!!!

Speaking about your sin and flaunting it openly in front of your friends is haraam, and is a major sin. It is one of the ways of spreading immorality among the Muslims, encouraging evil and tempting others to do similar things. It also means that one does not take sin seriously and regards it as insignificant, and that the sinner is damaging his own reputation and exposing his honour to the slander of others. However, sins can be discussed if a person is committing sin openly and others are to be warned as an example of the sinner; or if a person himself who has sinned and repented needs to advise a fellow Muslim to stop him from sinning; or when an advice is sought regarding one's sin; and when one is asking for help in removing the sin within him.

From among the teachings of Allah's Messenger (pbuh) is to keep sins a secret matter. If someone commits a sinful act which is against the Commandments of Allah, or is against the moral character, or is such an act that may cause harm to one's honor, then he should keep it a secret and seek forgiveness from Allah in the darkness of night.

The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said:
"My entire nation is safe, except al-Mujahirin (those who boast of their sins). Among the Mujaharah is that a man commits an (evil) act, and wakes up in the morning while Allah has kept his (sin) a secret, he says: "O Fulan! Last night I did this and that." He goes to sleep while Allah has kept his (sin) a secret but he wakes up in the morning and uncovers what Allah has kept a secret!" [Sahih al-Bukhari]

Zayd ibn Aslam narrated,
'At the time of the Messenger of Allah (
pbuh), a man admitted that he had committed fornication, so the Messenger of Allah asked for a whip. He was brought a broken whip, so he said: "Better than this." Then he was brought a new whip..., he then said: "Lesser than this.' So, he was brought a whip that was used and had thus become soft, and the Messenger (pbuh) ordered that he be whipped with it (a hundred times). He then said: "O People! It is time for you to refrain from transgressing Allah's limits. He who commits some of these filthy acts (such as fornication), let him hide under Allah's cover, for whoever admits what he has committed, we will establish Allah's Book as regards him (by applying the warranted punishment for this sin)." [Musnad Ahmad]

Do not Despair, put your Trust in Allah !!!

SubhanAllah, A beautiful advice, a must watch for all, specially for every distressed person who is overwhelmed by hardships, worries, illness or any diseases.
No one can dispel the worries & remove the sorrows except the Ever-living, the Sustainer of all that exists; the one who neither slumber nor sleep.
The purpose of trials is, so that you flee from Allah to Allah. Increase in your du'a, plead and beseech Him, for He is more merciful to you than you are to yourself !!!

Secrets of Surah Al-Kahf

Ever wondered why Prophet Muhammad(SAWS) asked us to recite Surat Al-Kahf every Friday?

This Surah has Four stories in it,having some morals, lets see them and understand what they are saying to us:

1) The People Of The Cave
Its the story of young men who lived in a disbelieving town, so they decided to migrate for the sake of Allah and run away. -Allah rewards them with mercy in the cave and protection from the sun - They woke up and found the entire village believers.
MORAL:TRIAL OF FAITH.

2) The Owner Of Two Gardens
A story of a man whom Allah blessed with two beautiful gardens, but the man forgot to thank the One who blessed him with everything and he even dared to doubt Allah regarding the afterlife. So His garden was destroyed - He regretted ,but was too late and his regret did not benefit him.
MORAL:TRIAL OF WEALTH.

3) Musa(AS) and Khidr(AS)
When Musa(AS) was asked: “Who’s the most knowledgeable of the people of earth?” Musa(AS) said: "Me…,but Allah revealed to him that there’s someone who Knows more than him. Musa(AS) traveled to the man and learnt how the Divine Wisdom can sometimes be hidden in matters which we perceive as bad.
MORAL:TRIAL OF KNOWLEDGE.

4) Dhul-Qarnayn
Its a story of the great King that was given knowledge and power and was going around the world, helping people and spreading all that’s good.He was able to overcome the problem of Yajooj-Majooj and build a massive dam with the help of people whom he could not even understand.
MORAL:TRIAL OF POWER

To my Monotheist Imprisoned Brother...

All praise is to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, the forgiver of sins and the acceptor of repentances, the stern in punishment, the Bountiful, there is no God but He, and to Him is the return, He tests us, all praise to Him, with goodness and evil temptations, to see how we work, whether we are patient or intolerant, so the one who is patient, is patient for himself and Allah will raise him in grades and lift off the narrowness and dismay from him, and the one who is intolerant does not harm anyone except himself and he will get what Allah has written for him of trials until his reality becomes clear to himself, and Allah goes by His will in any way and peace and blessings of Allah be upon the best of His creatures and the master of the messengers, our Prophet Muhammad and on his family and Companions as a whole. To proceed,

Following the order of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and Verily religion is advice and, I thought to specify this article in order to publish some suggestions and send it to our imprisoned brothers, that perhaps it might ease things on them of what they are in, (even though we are more in need of it), to remind them that what they are in is a blessing in the guise of trial, and to bind upon their hearts and to strengthen their belief in their Lord, and they as you all know, suffer from the oppression of detention in the hands of those who do not show them the slightest of consideration, making them endure the worst of torture, and trying to deviate them from their religion and ruin their connection with their Creator, until they succumb to what has befallen them, so that their reward is wasted and their selves are broken and they get divided resulting in them gathering both the wrath of Allah Almighty and the sufferings that they receive at the hands of their tormenters.

As a precaution from me, so that the brothers do not reach this slope I offer them these words, perhaps it may help them in the removal of some of their ham and distress and they transcend themselves and their grief and ascend to greater heights, so I say, and with Allah is guidance and upon Him is the trust.

The Battle of Uhud: Victory, Not Defeat !!!

Friday Khutbah from the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah:

All praise is due to Allah. May peace and blessings be upon His prophet Muhammad.

Fellow Muslims! Fear Allah as He should be feared for the fear of Allah increases one in blessings and removes calamities.

The Almighty Allah sent our prophet Muhammad to mankind after a break in the series of messengers at a time when the world was immersed in a deep darkness of ignorance. The Prophet and his companions started spreading the religion and the disbelievers challenged his message and unsheathed their swords to fight him. The Muslims faced them in the battle of Badr and realised a great victory by Allah’s command. The flag of Islam was raised high and the disbelievers returned to Makkah disgraced, everyone mourning the killing of his relative and lamenting over his misfortune.

The defeat was so painful for the disbelievers that they resolved to confront the Muslims again. They spent a whole year amassing as many weapons and men as they could to fight the Muslims. They left Makkah for Madinah in the third year of Hijrah in order to avenge their defeat during the Battle of Badr.

Upon reaching Madinah they camped at mount Uhud. Meanwhile some men among the Muslims who were unfortunate enough not to have participated in the Battle of Badr and were enthusiastic about Jihad advised the Messenger of Allah to go out and meet the enemy. The Prophet agreed and all the Muslims likewise were determined to go out and meet them.

All Deeds are Based on Intention

Niyyat, niyat, niyah refers to the intention behind an action. Because Allah swt will weigh your deeds according to what you intended since “actions are but by intentions.”
Niyya is used in two senses by the scholars of Islam. The first is to distinguish some acts of worship from others, e.g., salat al-zuhr from salat al-‘asr or to distinguish acts of worship (‘ibadat) from mundane matters (‘adat). This is the primary usage of the term in the books of the fuqaha`. The second usage is to distinguish an action that is performed for the sake of Allah, subhanahu wa ta’ala, from an act done for the sake of Allah and others, or just for the sake of other than Allah. This second meaning is that which is intended by the gnostics (‘arifun) in their discussions of sincerity (ikhlas) and related matters. This is the same meaning that is intended by the Pious Ancestors (al-salaf al-salih) when they use the term niyya. Thus, in the Qur`an, the speech of the Prophet (Sws) and the speech of the Salaf, the term niyya is synonymous, or usually so, with the term desire (irada) and related terms, e.g., ibtigha`.
‘Umar b. al-Khattab narrated that the Prophet (S) said:

Deeds are [a result] only of the intentions [of the actor], and an individual is [rewarded] only according to that which he intends. Therefore, whosoever has emigrated for the sake of Allah and His messenger, then his emigration was for Allah and His messenger. Whosoever emigrated for the sake of worldly gain, or a woman [whom he desires] to marry, then his emigration is for the sake of that which [moved him] to emigrate.”
 Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim.

An act that is not done sincerely for the sake of Allah may be divided into parts:
The first is that which is solely for display (riya`) such that its sole motivation is to be seen by others in order to achieve a goal in the profane world, as was the case of the Hypocrites in their performance of prayer, where Allah described them as “When they join prayer, they go lazily [with the purpose] of displaying [themselves] to the people.”
At other times, an action might be partially for the sake of Allah and partially to display one’s self in front of the people. If the desire to display one’s self arose at the origin of the action, then the action is vain. Imam Ahmad reports that the Prophet (Sws) said, ”When Allah gathers the first [of His creation] and the last [of His creation] for that Day for which there is no doubt, a crier will call out, ‘Whosoever associated with Me another in his actions let him seek his reward from other than Allah, for Allah is the most independent of any association (fa-inna allaha aghna al-sharaka` ‘an al-shirk).” Al-Nasa`i reported that a man asked the Prophet (S), “What is your opinion of one who fights [in the way of Allah] seeking fame [in the profane world] and reward [from Allah]?”? The Prophet (Sws) replied, “He receives nothing [by way of reward from Allah’.” The Prophet (Sws) repeated this three times and then said, “Allah accepts no deeds other than those that are performed solely for His sake and by which His face is sought.” This opinion, namely, that if an act is corrupted by any desire to display one’s self (riya`) then that act is rejected, is attributed to many of the Salaf, including, ‘Ubada b. al-Samit, Abu al-Darda`, al-Hasan al-Basri, Sa’id b. al-Musayyib and others.
Nothing is more difficult on a person than sincerity because the person gains no share of that [act]. Ibn ‘Uyayna said that Mutarrif b. ‘Abdallah would repeat the following prayer, “O Allah! I seek Your forgiveness for that which I sought your repentance but to which I subsequently returned; I seek Your forgiveness from that which I rendered to You from my self, but then, I was not able to maintain faithfully; and, I seek Your forgiveness from that by which I claimed I desired your Face but my heart became corrupted with that which I did.”
A Muslim believes in the great importance of intention and its importance for the reminder of his deeds, both of this world and the Hereafter. This is so because all deeds are based on intention. Due to it, the deed is strengthened or weakened. Depending on the intention, the deed is either valid or void. The belief of the Muslim, concerning the necessity of intention for every deed and the obligation to make the intention proper, is based first of all on Allah's words:

"And they were commanded not but that they should worship Allah and worship none but Him alone (abstaining from ascribing partners to Him)." [Noble Quran 98:5]

Allah has also said:
"Say (O Muhammad): 'Verily, I am commanded to worship Allah (alone) by obeying Him and doing religious deeds sincerely for His sake only." [Noble Quran 39:11]

This belief is also based on Allah's Messenger's words:
"Verily, all actions are but driven by intention and for everyone is what he intended." [Bukhari and Muslim]

Allah's Messenger (pbuh) also said:
"Certainly, Allah does not look at your shapes or wealth. But He only looks at your heart and deeds." [Bukhari and Muslim]

Looking at the hearts is looking at the intentions, for it is the intention that is driving and motivating force behind the deed.

Allah's Messenger (pbuh) also said:
"He who seriously considered doing a good deed but did not do it, will have one good deed recorded for him." [Muslim]

Just seriously considering for a good deed is a good deed itself by which one earns reward. This is due to the virtuousness of having a proper intention.

Interview with Dr. Omar Abdul Rahman

An article worth reading and contemplating on again and again Insha'Allah - This Article was published in the 16th issue of Nida’ul Islam magazine, December – January 1996-97

Interview with Dr. Omar Abdul Rahman  (Allah hasten his release-ALLAHUMA AMEEN)." from his prison in the US.

The imprisoned Dr. Sheikh Omar Abdul Rahman is a symbol of struggle against international tyranny. The blind Sheikh has aimed all his life to draw the Muslims’ attention to the absolute necessity of monotheism towards Allah through implementing His law (Sharia) and following His Way. We shall leave the Islamic scholar to tell us himself about the most important milestones in his life.
Alhamdulillah and peace and blessing of Allah over His Messenger. Dear brothers and sisters; Peace, mercy and blessings from Allah be with you (Assalamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh).
It is evil for a person to talk about himself, his achievements or stands. Yet, a brief statement here will suffice.
When man started his life, Allah taught him how to work for struggle and guided him to the right path. I have tried to say the word of truth in Egypt and to face idols or dictatorship of a single ruler which existed, and still is, in Egypt through seminars, lectures and lessons. Al Jamaah Al Islamiah (the Islamic Group) put a great effort to let people know better their religion. I have been arrested several times for that in successive court cases: “president Sedat” case, resisting the authority case, “AL Fayoum” case… We were showered with numerous cases. Allah, however, gave us victory over the regime in those court cases.
I traveled to Europe, passing through Britain, Denmark, Sweden and many other countries. I met with sincere brothers and sisters, gave numerous lectures and talks to let Muslims be aware of their obligation to struggle for their religion and to face their enemies. We ended in America where I visited many states, talking about the duties of Muslims towards their religion, how to make Islam their first priority all the time and to struggle for the sake of Allah. No single year should pass from the life of a Muslim without living the struggle. I then went to many countries in the world, but ended with being framed with this fraudulent case and with a prison sentence. We ask Allah to let us stay firm along the truth and to benefit us with the blessings and rewards He gives his imprisoned servants. There are many rewards and blessings in being imprisoned and we ask Him to let us benefit from it.

The Snake and Malik ibn Dinar

A short powerful story and reminder about the dream of Malik ibn Dinar that changed his life.

A Description of how to perform disbelief in Taghut

By Shaykh Abu Baseer al-Tartusi
From The Book Shurootul-La-Ilaha-Illallah

After we have now learnt about what Tāghūt is and what its means, we must know how to make Kufr in them; so that each and every one of us can judge whether we are those who truly make disbelief in Tāghūt or are amongst the false claimants. To make Kufr in Tāghūt is not simply a wish nor a claim of the tongue without any signs or actions; it can only be achieved by performing disbelief in Kufr by one’s belief, by one’s speech and by one’s actions at the same time.

Kufr bit Tāghūt by Aqeedah
It is by holding enmity, hatred and detest to the Kufr in one’s heart; and to believe that that Tāghūt and whatever worships him are disbelievers. One must believe such and there can be no excuse for one’s heart, since the realms of the heart and its belief cannot be forcibly changed by any person. His belief is between him and Allah (swt) and cannot be interfered or encroached by any one. Consequently, there is no excuse of compulsion for the one who believes in Kufr or who is pleased with a Tāghūt since compulsion is an excuse for the apparent actions and not for the inner beliefs. This matter every single person who calls himself a Muslim must do it as the opposite of it means that he is happy with Kufr; and is happy with the Tāghūt’s crimes and Kufr. There is no disagreement that the one who is pleased with Kufr is a Kaafir (disbeliever).

Kufr bit Tāghūt by Speech
This can only be by declaring Takfeer (excommunication) upon the Tāghūt by one’s tongue. One must also declare disassociation from it (the Tāghūt), it’s religion, followers and worshippers. One must also expose why such a Taahgout is upon falsehood and disbelief. As Allah (swt) says in the Qur’an,

    “Say O disbelievers!” [al-Kaafiroun]

“Why I Left Shi'ah !!!”

Sayyid Husain Al-Musawi
The Testimony Of The Author Before He Was Killed

Sayyid Husain Al-Musawi is not an unfamiliar name among the Shi'ahs. He was a great scholar of the Shi'ahs who was born in Karbala and studied in Hauzah until he got the title “mujtahid”. He also had a special position in the sight of Imam Ayatullah Khomeini.

After going through a long spiritual journey, he finally left Shi'ah, because he found so many deviations and errors in it. This article was excerpted from his book, 'Why I Left Shi'ah (transl.)', his responsibility for Allah and history before he was eventually murdered:

I was born in Karbala, growing up in an environment of Shi'ah people and was cared of by my father, who was a religious person. I studied in a number of schools in the city up until I reached early adolescence. And then my father sent me to Hauzah, sort of like an Islamic boarding school, in the city of Najaf. It was the main city of knowledge, the place of the famous scholars to study religious knowledge, such as Imam Sayyid Muhammad Ali Husain Kasyif Al-Ghita. He was a notable figure in the 'City of Knowledge'. Since then, I started thinking seriously about the issue of knowledge. I studied the madzhab of Ahlul-Bait, but on the other hand I have found reproach and attacks against the Ahlul-Bait.

I learned about the issues of Shari'ah to worship Allah, but in it were nas (texts) which show kufr against Allah SWT. "O Allah, what am I studying? Is it possible that all this is the true madzhab of Ahlul-Bait?"

Indeed, this led to the splitting of a person's personality. Because, how does he worship Allah while on the other hand he is kufr against Allah? How does he follow the sunnah of Rasulullah while on the other hand he attacks him? How can he be said following the Ahlul Bait, loving and studying their madzhab, while he insults and mocks him?

"Send down your mercy and love O Allah. If not because of Your mercy, I will surely be among those who go astray, in fact among those who lose."

I again asked myself, "What is the attitude of the notable figures, the imams and those who are considered as ulama's? What is their stance on this matter? Do they see what I see? Do they learn what I learn?"

Four Basic Rules of Pure Monotheism

This is Islam...Monotheism

Based on an essay by Shaykh Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahab

Almighty God, Lord of the Glorious Throne, I pray that He may guide you in this world and the next; that He may always bless you; that He may make you one of those who recognize His bounty, who remain firm in face of adversity, and who repent and seek His forgiveness if they disobey or sin.

These three characteristics are the indices of felicity and blessedness.

Know that pure worship and monotheism, which is the religion of Abraham, consists of worshipping God alone, of dedicating yourself sincerely to serving Him. God said:"I have not created jinn and men but to worship Me" (Qur'an 51:56).
Once you know that God has created you to serve Him, you will realize that there can be no service except with Pure Monotheism (Arabic: Tawhid). Just as there is no formal prayer without purity, and there is no purity with uncleanliness, so there is no worship of God while worshipping others along with Him (Arabic: Shirk).

By associating others with Almighty God, man's worship is spoilt, his deeds are vain and he is doomed to eternal Hellfire. If you are cognizant of all this, you will realize that your most important care should be to have all the knowledge pertinent thereto, that God may save you from Hell's terrible abyss. Almighty God said: "God will not forgive any the association of anything with Him; but He will forgive any lesser offense to whomsoever He chooses" (Qur'an 4:47, 115. It should be mentioned that Almighty God will forgive those who have ascribed partners Him, or worshipped others along with Him, if they repent from doing it before they die.).

Such pertinent knowledge consists of four basic rules, elaborated in Almighty God's Holy Book.

Women in the Quran AND the Sunnah

In Islam there is absolutely no difference between men and women as far as their relationship to Allah is concerned, as both are promised the same reward for good conduct and the same punishment for evil conduct. The Quran says:
"And for women are rights over men similar to those of men over women." [Noble Quran 2:228]

The Quran, in addressing the believers, often uses the expression, 'believing men and women' to emphasize the equality of men and women in regard to their respective duties, rights, virtues and merits. It says:
"For Muslim men and women, for believing men and women, for devout men and women, for true men and women, for men and women who are patient and constant, for men and women who humble themselves, for men and women who give in charity, for men and women who fast, for men and women who guard their chastity, and for men and women who engage much in Allah's praise, for them has Allah prepared forgiveness and great reward." [Noble Quran 33:35]

This clearly contradicts the assertion of the Christian Fathers that women do not possess souls and that they will exist as sexless beings in the next life. The Quran says that women have souls in exactly the same way as men and will enter Paradise if they do good:
"Enter into Paradise, you and your wives, with delight." [Noble Quran 43:70]

"Who so does that which is right, and believes, whether male or female, him or her will We quicken to happy life." [Noble Quran 16:97]

Muslims do not need Freedom of Speech... Why?

Muslims do not need Freedom of Speech, they have Enjoining the Good and Forbidding the Evil

http://alhittin.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/freedom-of-speech-islam.jpg

“You are the best nation produced for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah.” (Quran 3:110)

Whenever Muslims engage themselves in a debate with non-Muslim journalists and media outlets on free Speech, the conversation ends up with Muslims being told that the only reason they are able to speak, is because of the freedom of speech, they are entitled to in democracies, and that this is the reason they can be critical and disagree in the west.

This whole argument is based upon a premise which assumes, that the reason Muslims speak out against the injustices which they see around the world, is because that they have the freedom to do so and for this reason Muslims should be grateful. This could not be further from the truth!

The fact of the matter is that even before the birth of the concept of free speech in the west, Islam had given Muslims a concept more precious and worthwhile then free speech, Amr bil Ma’ruf wa Nahi Anil Munkar (Enjoining the good and forbidding the evil).

Islam made an obligation upon Muslims to enjoin the good and forbid evil no matter where they lived and how big or small the good or evil maybe. This is why you find Muslims, all across the global enjoining the good or speaking against injustices regardless of whether they live in democracies or dictatorships.

“No Fruit From Visitors!”

TAREK MEHANNA4 Occupy 4 Prisoners, Rally for Tarek Mehanna
By Tariq Mehanna (may Allah release him sooner rather than later-AMEEN)

A few days ago, I received a letter in which someone was expressing dismay at a hardship they were witnessing, that would not end. The letter contained the line: “…I am angry. Why didn’t Allah listen to our du’a? Why?”

I decided to write this as a response because this is an unfortunately common reaction, and it’s due to a severe misunderstanding of how du’a’ (i.e. invoking God for something) works. We tend to this of du’a’ as a panic button: you’re in a tight situation, God promised repeatedly in the Qur’an that he responds to the one who invokes Him in need, therefore, if you get all the details right (last third of the night, concentration, etc), the next day you’ll see “the answer.” And if you don’t get “the answer,” you begin to internally doubt the promise of God. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) addressed this phenomenon in an authentic hadith collected by both al-Bukhari & Muslim. The wording in Muslim’s narration is more to the point:
“A person’s invocation of God will continue to be answered – so long as he/she doesn’t ask for something sinful or to cut off a family member – and so long as he/she isn’t hasty.” He was asked: “How would the be hasty?” The Prophet replied: “By saying: ‘I prayed and I prayed, and I don’t see that I’m being answered,’ and he then loses hope and gives up invoking God.”

This is a very interesting hadith, and a deep look at it will teach you a lot about how du’a’ works, and how it doesn’t work.

Our beloved Sisters in Buraydah, Saudi.

Free Our Sisters!! Shaykh Ahmad Musa Jibril:

A Message for those Drowning (in sin)...

http://www.missionislam.com/images/frontpage/currentfront/repent.jpg

Question:
I would like to let you know that I have committed most major sins and I am not saying this in order to take pride in my sins; I used to feel this before but not any longer. I have drunk wine twice in my life or perhaps three times, I don’t know. I have committed adultery with almost 10 women and I was about to destroy the future of a girl but Allah saved her from my harm; I do not know is it possible that Allah repents on me and forgives me? I don’t know, I have tried to repent more than once and every time I return to the same sins to the degree that I have felt I am a hypocrite who is not afraid of death and being accounted. Sometimes I feel that Allah loves me and that I love Him, but then Satan quickly takes over my heart again.

I have defeated Satan in many rounds, but he defeated me in more battles; Is it possible for me to return to Allah once again and how?
I have prayed a lot but more than that I have interrupted my prayers. My weakness has reached points a believer cannot imagine.
I have sworn upon the Holy Quran that I will stop smoking but I haven’t.
I have promised Allah Himself that I will not view pornographic sites and that I will never visit them again and that I will not watch those unclean movies that the west uses to kill our faith but I have broken my promise to Allah; My will has weakened to a level that nobody can imagine after I used to have strength in performance and the ability to change my personality and my way of life;
I have become a person who does not feel the pleasure of life even though I still maintain my soul and my rounds of vice, sins, lying, cheating; so how do I get rescued?

I want to know what religious people have known but what I haven’t. I am sure that they know something I don’t know and don’t feel, so why? This is me so what do I do to benefit me, may Allah benefit you.

Answer:
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. All praise be to Allah, and prayers and greetings upon our prophet Muhammad and his family and companions.

Timeless Words of Malcolm X

Malcolm-X

By Tarek Mehanna (May Allah release him sooner rather than later-AMEEN)

This is a collection of quotations of Malcolm X, taken from a book called ‘By Any Means Necessary,’ with my occasional commentary below certain selections, if any. Each is timeless.

1) p.139: “… I’ve learned that one cannot take things for granted and then cry when nothing materializes. We must learn that we are masters of our own destiny, but only when we exercise the maximum efforts to get things done. Take nothing for granted in this world, and we will then be assured of success.”

2) p.114: “… If you’re not for that, you’re not for freedom. It means you don’t even want to be a human being. You don’t want to pay the price that is necessary. And you shouldn’t even be allowed around us other humans if you don’t want to pay the price. You should be kept in the cotton patch where you’re not a human being. You’re an animal that belongs in the cotton patch, like a horse and a cow or a chicken or a possum, if you’re not ready to pay the price that is necessary to be paid for recognition and respect as a human being.”

3) p.115: “Didn’t you hear Lyndon B. Johnson last week when he said that they’ll go to war in a minute to protect their life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness? Did they say LBJ was violent? No, they said he was a good president. Well, let’s you and I be good presidents.”

4) p.213: “Without education, you are not going anywhere in this world.”

5) p.152: “… If we are extremists, we’re not ashamed of it. In fact, the conditions that our people suffer are extreme, and an extreme illness cannot be cured with a moderate medicine.”

Umm Salamah’s (ra) du’a and story

A very touching an inspiring story of one of the greatest female companions of our beloved Prophet (saws).
When we are afflicted with hardships and tests, or simply do not get something we anticipated or hoped for, then the story of Umm Salamah (ra) brings much comfort to the heart. It also encourages us to build up our own strength and increase our trust in Allah subhanahu wa tala, for surely He is the best of planners and providers.

When Abu Salamah (my husband) decided to leave for Madinah, he prepared a camel for me, hoisted me on it and placed our son Salamah on my lap. My husband then took the lead and went on without stopping or waiting for anything. Before we were out of Makkah, some men from my clan stopped us and said to my husband:
“Though you are free to do what you like with yourself, you have no power over your wife. She is our daughter. Do you expect us to allow you to take her away from us?”

They then pounced on him and snatched me away from him. My husband’s clan, Banu Abdul-Asad, saw them taking both me and my child. They became hot with rage. “No! By Allah,” they shouted, “we shall not abandon the boy. He is our son and we have a first claim over him.”They took him by the hand and pulled him away from me. Suddenly, in the space of a few moments, I found myself alone and lonely. My husband headed for Madinah by himself, and his clan had snatched my son away from me. My own clan, Banu Makhzum, overpowered me and forced me to stay with them.
From the day when my husband and my son were separated from me, I went out at noon every day to that valley and sat at the spot where this tragedy occurred. I would recall those terrible moments and weep until night fell on me.
I continued like this for a year or so until one day a man from the Banu Umayyah passed by and saw my condition. He went back to my clan and said:
“Why don’t you free this poor woman? You have caused her husband and her son to be taken away from her.”
He went on trying to soften their hearts and play on their emotions. At last they said to me, “Go and join your husband if you wish.”

Tafsir of Ayat ul-Kursi

By Sheikh Abdullah al-Faisal

All praise is due to Allah lord of the worlds.  We praise His and we beseech him for help & assistance. Whomsoever Allah guides none can lead astray. And whomsoever Allah refuses to guide no one can guide. I testify to the fact that there’s no deity worthy of worship but Allah.  And I also testify that Muhammad (PBUH) is his last Prophet and Messenger.

Brothers and sisters in Islam Allah has blessed us once more to witness another day of youmul jumua.  Today we shall be explaining the greatest ayah of the Holy Qur’an.  This verse is called ayatul kursi.  In this verse Allah said:

He is Allah! Laa ilaaha illaa huw, none has the right to be worshipped except Him.  He is al Hayy, the Ever Living.  He is al Qayyum, the One who sustains and protects all that exists in the heavens and the earth.  Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him.  To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth.  Who is he that can intercede with Him save by His permission?  He knows what happens to his creatures in this world and what fate awaits them in the Hereafter.  And they will never compass anything of His Knowledge save that which He wills.  His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them.  And He is the Most High , the Most Great.

Brother and sisters in Islam we shall explain each sentence of this verse so that the congregation will understand the meaning of ayatul kursi which is the greatest ayah of the Holy Qur’an.

The Qur’an states:
He is Allah! Laa ilaaha illaa huw, none has the right to be worshipped except Him.
