Allah Loves Al-Muhsinun (good-doers)

"Truly Allah loves Al-Muhsinun (the good-doers)"

- Quran, Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 195 

 

Who is Al-Muhsinun?

A good-doer who performs good deeds 1) Totally for Allah's sake only without any show-off or to gain praise or fame, and 2) In accordance with the Sunnah of Allah's Messenger, Muhammad (peace & blessings be on him). These are also the 2 conditions for any good deeds to be accepted by Allah.

 

To be a Muhsinun is to reach among the highest ranks in the religion. The Arabic word 'Muhsinun' comes from the word 'Ahsan' which means the best ie worshipping Allah in the best way possible.

 

How to do our ibadah in the best way possible?

• Purifying the worship off riya' (showing off) ie do them only, only for the sake of Allah
• Having khushoo' (absolute concentration through presence of mind & body) in ibadah by feeling Allah's greatness & submitting to Him alone

10 characteristics of a Muhsinun

 

• Muslimun (Submission to Allah)
• Mu'minun (Believing in Islam's 6 pillars of faith)
• We hear & we obey (to all of Allah's commandments)
• When Allah forbids something, we abstain immediately without much thought 
• Just when judging people
• Speaking only with the best words. Otherwise, remain silent
• Thinking good of Allah always (regardless of what comes as part of His Qadr (decree))
• Doing the best to gain Allah's pleasure (Never heedless of Allah's commandments, nothing else can occupy or take over a Muhsinun's hearts, SubhanAllah)
• When angered, they will suppress their anger (Egs are in our prophets Muhammad & Yusuf, peace & blessings be upon them both)
• Pardon people when they are being wronged

What is my reward for being a Muhsinun??

You'll be among Allah's beloved. What does this mean? It means you are set for life in this world & the hereafter. You'll get everything for both lives, SubhanAllah!

 

Surah At-Tawbah (9:120)

That is because they suffer neither thirst nor fatigue, nor hunger in the Cause of Allah, nor they take any step to raise the anger of disbelievers nor inflict any injury upon an enemy but is written to their credit as a deed of righteousness. Surely, Allah wastes not the reward of the Muhsinun
