LOVE and ISLAM

The definition for love is: A strong and tender feeling of affection and devotion to someone or something. In another definition, A strong passionate feeling of affection and devotion for someone or something.  Since love causes us to become subservient to someone it is very important that we love the right things and the right people. if we love the wrong things and the wrong people then this is a recipe for disaster.  Allah in the Qur'an has told us who we should love and what we should love. A real Muslim loves what Allah loves and hates what Allah hates. A real Muslim loves and hates for the sake of Allah.  This is called "AL WALAA WAL BARAA"

Allah has used the word love on numerous occasions in the holy Qur'an to teach us who & what we should love. So Allah said: wa habbaba ilaikum al iman. I Allah cause the believers to love iman and to hate kufr, sins and disobedience to Allah. {49:7}

Allah also said sometimes in life we find ourselves loving things that are harmful for us. so Allah said:  Maybe you may love something which is bad for you. {2:216}  Allah said also: And Allah loves the kindhearted people who spend in His cause "The Muhsineen" {2:195}

The Holy Qur'an said: Allah loves those who turn to him with sincere tawba whenever they do a haram act. {2:222}

In order for the tawba to be sincere the following 5 conditions have to be found:

[1] you need to stop the haram act that you are doing.
[2] you need to feel regret and remorse for the act.
[3] you need to make tawba and beg Allah to forgive your sin. The best time to make tawba is the last 3rd of the night.
[4]  If you hurt someone with your haram act you need to beg him/ her to forgive you, only then Allah will forgive you.
[5] You need to make tawba before the sun rises from the west, the dajjaal and the appearance of the beast.

The Qur'an also said: Allah loves those who are Mutata-hireen {2:222}  i.e. those who keep themselves clean, their clothes clean and their homes clean. The hadith said: at- tuhoor shat rul iman. This means, cleanliness is half of iman.  The Qur'an also said: Allah loves the muttaqoon {9:4} i.e. the pious ones. Taqwa means piety. Taqwa is to place between yourself and Allah's wrath a barrier by doing all the fard and abstaining from all the haram.

Also Allah loves the Muq-siteen i.e. the Just. {5:42}  And the Saabireen i.e. "The Patient Ones" {3:146}  Only the patient ones can go to jannah. Because the path to jannah is paved with a lot of trials and tribulations.

Allah also loves the mutawakkileen i.e. Those who put their trust in Allah.  Even though we put our trust in Allah the holy prophet said we must always tie our camel.  So we are not allowed to drive around without a spear tire and say we are putting our trust in Allah.

Allah loves those who are humble towards the believers and stern towards the kuffaar. [5:54}  Allah loves those who follow His messenger Muhammad [saw]. The Parvazis believe in Qur'an but not hadith. Allah said in surah 4:150 these are the real kafirs.

Allah said He loves those who fight in His cause in organised ranks as if to say they are one solid structure. {61:4}  Therefore Allah wants us to be organised and fight for His cause. Not for racism, tribalism or nationalism.

In Islam there is no such thing as unconditional love. Our love has a condition attached to it. so we love you if you are a good Muslim and we hate you if you are an enemy of Allah or His Prophets or the deen.  This is called al walaa wal baraa.

Those who Allah does not love.
Allah does not love people who transgress beyond bounds when they do jihad. e.g: those who kill women, children, elderly, disabled, etc.{2:190}
Allah does not love foul language {4:148}
Allah does not love the mischief makers {5:64}
Allah does not love the oppressors. Allah does not love the fariheen. Those who gain wealth to show off {28:76}
Allah does not love the wasters {6;141}
Allah does not love the traitors {8:58}
Allah does not love the proud the arrogant and the boastful {31:18}

In Islam there are 3 types of love
[1] emotional love this is the love you have for your parents, siblings or children
[2] physical love
[3] spiritual love this is when you love a strong Muslim for the sake of Allah. this love i.e. spiritual love is the supreme love because the best love is when you love a person for Allah's sake.
