There is no question that any Muslim who views homosexuality or the homosexual act as acceptable and/or legitimate (through speech and/or action) has rejected the related Ayaat from the Quraan and Ahadith regarding this matter, and has consequently entered into a state of kuffr (disbelief).
"But those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), for them is destruction, and (Allah) will make their deeds vain." [47:8]
"That is because they hate that which Allah has sent down (this Quraan and Islamic laws, etc.), so He has made their deeds fruitless." [47:9]
Allah addresses homosexuality in the Quraan by referring to the people of Lut (lot):
"And (remember) Lout (Lot), when he said to his people: “Do you commit the worst sin such as none preceding you has committed in the ‘Alamin (mankind and jinns)?" [7:80]
Allah also tells us in the Quraan that the people of Lut regarded homosexuality as a way of life which they preferred (over heterosexuality), to the extent that they did not want anyone who was not like them to be amongst them. Allah say:
"But the answer of his (Lut) people was not except that they said, Expel the family of Lot from your city. Indeed, they are people who keep themselves pure.” [27:56]
Allah says in Surah Adh-dhahariyat that when the angels came to visit Prophet Ibrahim (on their way to destroy the people of Lut), the angels explained that they were sent to destroy the mujrimoon (the criminals).
"They said, Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals." [51:32]
In Surah Al-Qalam (verse 35), Allah says:
"Shall We then treat the (submitting) Muslims like the mujrimoon (criminals, polytheists and disbelievers, etc.)?" [68:35]
The Prophet Muhammad (saws) said: "Whoever you find doing as the people of Lot did (i.e. homosexuality), kill the one who does it and the one to whom it is done."
Allah has not permitted satisfying our sexual desire with anything other than a spouse or slave/captive of the opposite sex, and anyone who views homosexuality or the homosexual act as acceptable and legitimate is also rejecting the following verses from the Quraan, rendering him/her a kaafir (disbeliever):
"And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts from illegal sexual acts)." [70:29]
"Except with their wives and the (women slaves and captives) whom their right hands possess, for (then) they are not to be blamed." [70:30]
"But whosoever seeks other than that, then it is those who are trespassers." [70:30]
A believer does not attempt to change the nature upon which Allah has created him/her. Allah says:
"So direct your face toward the religion, inclining to truth. (Adhere to) the fitrah of Allah upon which He has created (all) people. No change should there be in the creation of Allah." [30:30]
Based on the above, the Shari’ah treats the homosexual act as a major, despicable sin, which is punishable by killing, and considering it acceptable and legitimate takes one out of the fold of Islam.
"And who does greater evil than he who is reminded of the signs of His Lord, then turns away from them? We shall take vengeance upon the criminals." [32:22]
