Servitude of Muraghamah !

A Muslim worships Allah in this world with pure intention and draws near to Him by means, as people worship Him by obligatory duties. Every step a Muslim takes in obeying Allah is an act of worship if the intention is sincere. Each movement and silence in the way of Allah for the victory of the religion, annoying the infidels, and fighting the enemies of Allah are sincere acts of worship that put a Muslim in the lines of the good-doers. "It was not becoming of the people of Al-Madinah and the bedouins of the neighborhood to remain behind Allah's Messenger (Muhammad, when fighting in Allah's Cause) and (it was not becoming of them) to prefer their own lives to his life. That is because they suffer neither thirst nor fatigue nor hunger in the Cause of Allah, nor they take any step to raise the anger of disbelievers, nor inflict any injury upon an enemy but is written to their credit as a deed of righteousness. Surely, Allah wastes not the reward of the Muhsinûn." [9:120]

That kind of servitude was called by Imam Ibn Al Qayyim: "The Servitude of Muraghamah (Fighting or teasing the infidels for the sake of Allah)" or the battle of Al Muraghamah, whereas scholars in modern times named it the approach of teasing the infidels.

It is a special kind of servitude which many Muslims do not realize! 

The Prophet (saws) followed that approach when he dealt with the polytheists of Quraysh in the Conquest of Makkah when he gathered the entire Muslim army to pass from a narrow passage to display the glory of Islam and to affect the hearts of the polytheists so that their hearts would subject to Allah, would believe in Him and in His Messenger. Moreover, to offer loyalty and obedience to Allah and His Messenger willingly while they are humbled.

There are many situations in the biography of the Prophet (saws) to show the glory of Islam. "They (hypocrites) say: "If we return to Al-Madinah, indeed the more honorable ('Abdullah bin Ubai bin Salool, the chief of hypocrites at Al-Madinah) will expel therefrom the meaner (i.e. Allah's Messenger)." But honour, power and glory belong to Allah, and to His Messenger (Muhammad), and to the believers, but the hypocrites know not." [63:8]. 

`Umar ibn Al Khattab, the Ameer of the believers approved Mu`awiyah ibn Abu Sufyan when he over-exaggerated to display the appearance of kingdom, the luxurious clothes, and the convoys of his kingdoms in traveling and non-traveling. Although that is against the harshness of `Umar and its approach in accounting his emirs for the minor and major faults, he approved Mu`awiyah's action when he appointed him on the Levant (the region covering Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and Palestine) because of its nearness to the Romans in order to show the glory of the Islamic State before the Roman army to break down their fork and their repeated tries to avenge on Muslims who destroyed the Roman empire which subjugated the entire world for years until it exhausted people and countries, and blocked the way before people to believe in Allah.

However, today we were stunned by the West with something we have not seen since the crusades against the Muslim world, which is the revolution of knowledge and technology. The West inflicted us with another campaign but in the image of scientific revolution which it used to invade the Muslim world by Marxism, Bahaism, Masonry, Secularism, and the international Zionism. The West invaded our countries with that huge amount of scientific researches and the scientific and the industrial revolution and we brought poor knowledge that does not fatten and does not appease hunger. The West could not have done this except for it started from the endpoint of Muslims and not from where others started.

The West have wakened up from their sleep, whereas we fell into deep sleep. Now, the West has institutes for scientific research which it spent on them monies equal to the budget of the entire Arab world in this field, whereas we are spending lavishly on arts, artists, sports, and soccer players more than them. They have channels for information and entertainment, whereas we have channels for the interpretation of dreams, fashion, and other channels which is full of immorality and singing.

Indeed, we will not move forward until we return to our pure religion, our constants and high morals, and to care about scientific research. Moreover, we should have a true future vision and an overview for the education problems in our Arab world. We should forsake the memorization method in education so as to get rid of the (phobia) of certificates which waste energies, times, and efforts such as high school certificate in Egypt, Saudi and other certificates in the Arab world. At the same time, we should adopt the experimental scientific method which the former Muslims adopted such as Avicenna, Abu Bakr Ar-Razi, Al Faraby, Al Khawarizmy, Al Bayruny, Al Khalil ibn Ahmad, and others from the great think tanks of this nation when we were the best nation and when we adopted the causes of progress and ingenuity.

The causes still exist, and all we have to do is to blow that monster inside us, which is faith, and follow the same methods which the West followed to reach renaissance and to be the best nation that was offered to people as an example to follow; and this is not difficult for Allah. "Those (Muslim rulers) who, if We give them power in the land, (they) enjoin Iqamat-as-Salaat. [i.e. to perform the five compulsory congregational Salaat (prayers) (the males in mosques)], pay the Zakaat and they enjoin Al-Ma'ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders one to do), and forbid Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism and all that Islam has forbidden) [i.e. they make the Qur'an as the law of their country in all the spheres of life]." [22:41]
