People of falsehood use the story of Hatib (ra)

The people of falsehood use the story of Hatib’s (ra) writing to the Kuffaar of the Quraysh and notifying them of the news of the Prophet (saws) as proof that Mudhaharah of the Kuffaar is not Kuffr. The story, as it is in the Saheehayn and others on the authority of ‘Ali (ra) about the battle of the Fath (the opening of Makkah). He said, “The Messenger of Allah (saws) sent me, Az-Zubayr and Al Miqdad somewhere saying, ‘Go forth until you reach Rawdah Khakh. There you will find a lady with a letter. Take the letter from her.’

So, we set out and our horses ran at full pace till we got at Ar-Rawda where we found the lady and said (to her), ‘Take out the letter.’ She replied, ‘I have no letter with me.’ We said, ‘You will most certainly take out the letter or else we will take off your clothes.’ So, she took it out of her braid. So we took the letter and brought it to the Messenger of Allah and it contained a statement from Hatib ibnu Abi Balta’ah to some of the Mushrikoon of Makkah informing them of some of the intentions of the Messenger of Allah. Then the Messenger of Allah (saws) said, ‘O Hatib! What is this?’ Hatib replied, ‘Do not hasten to give your judgment about me. I was a man closely connected with the Quraysh, but I did not belong to them, while the other Muhajiroon with you, had their relatives who would protect their dependents and in Makkah. So, I wanted, because that passed me, by my lack of blood relation to them, to take among them a favor by which to protect my dependents. I did this neither because of Kuffr apostasy nor out of pleasure with Kuffr over Islam.’

The Messenger of Allah (saws) said, ‘Hatib has told you the truth. ‘Umar said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, allow me to chop off the head of this Munafiq!’ The Messenger of Allah (saws) said, ‘Verily he witnessed the battle of Badr, and what would make you come to know, perhaps Allah has already looked at the people of Badr and said, ‘Do whatever you like, for I have forgiven you.’”

Knowledge - Implementation !!!

Beauty within a person or an object is usually described as something which is rare, eye- catching, attractive and alluring to the eyes of the beholder. One such rare attribute within the believers is the beauty of beneficial knowledge intertwined with implementation.

For sure, the implementation of knowledge is one of the most beautiful and intriguing characteristics Mu'aadhah, the great Muhaddithah and teacher had. She wasn’t from those unfortunate women who possessed knowledge, yet never saw the fruits of it within their lives, because such knowledge is then just a burden for the one who acquires it, rather than a means towards the pleasure of Allah.

When her husband and son passed away, her reaction testified that she had reaped the fruits of her knowledge. My dear Sisters, let’s try our best to follow the example of this great woman by implementing and practicing that which we do know in our own lives, taking on hand in hand the difficulties this may throw our way. For, Allah (a'zza wa jall) warns us by saying: “O you who believe! Why do you say that which you do not do? Most hateful it is with Allah that you say that which you do not do.” [61:2-3]

The analogy of those who seek knowledge without implementing it is that of a person in a time of drought, needy of water for his people. He decides to undertake a long, laborious and painstaking journey under the scorching heat of the Saharan desert, each step more difficult than the next. But, such is his expediency that he sets out with a cracked storage container. When he finally gets to his destination, he is therefore unable to retain that which he ardently sought after and hence finds that he has in fact gained nothing...

Cry of the Imprisoned...

لحمد لله العلي المتعال ذي القدرة و الجلال و الصلاة و السلام علي النبي الضحوك القتال

From the humble slave of Allaah, to my beloved brothers and sisters,

I praise Allaah for he is worthy of praise for all the bounties He has bestowed upon this sinful slave. He who has chosen me with guidance amongst the ways of the misguided, in which, I was drowning. He who bestowed upon me knowledge with His Mercy alone and not due to any of my actions and guided me to the blessed path of Jihaad. So for Him, Allaah, my Rabb be all the praise.

Having now being tested with what already you all are aware of, I have to say as my salaaf said, from them Ibn Taymiyyah (RH):

“What can my enemies do to me?
If they imprison me,
then it is my place of worship,
If they send me to another land,
It is my place to call to Allaah
If they kill me,
Then I shall be a martyr”

I add,
If they beat me,
then it is either an evaluation of status or forgiveness of sins
If they curse me,
Angels will reply as long as I am patient
If they hold me,
then I shall get the reward of a Mujahid and a Muhaajir,
as their clutches are only what holds me from it (InshaAllaah) ”

Repentance from preoccupation with Duniya !

Ja’far bin Sulaymaan said, “Maalik bin Dinaar and I passed through al-Basrah, so while we were circling it, we passed by a palace that was being built. There was a young man sitting. I have not seen a face more beautiful than his. And he was dictating the building of the palace, saying, ‘Do this,’ and ‘Build that.’ So Maalik said to me, ‘What do you think of this young man and his beautiful face and his care over this building? Something has made me want to ask my Lord to rescue him, perhaps He will make him of the youth of Jannah, o Ja’far! Let us enter upon him.’

Ja’far said, “So we entered and we greeted him, and he returned the greeting, and he did not recognize Maalik. So when he became acquainted with him, he rose to him and said, ‘Do you have a need?’ He said, ‘How much do you intend to spend on this palace?’ He said, ‘One hundred thousand dirhams.’ (Maalik) said, ‘Would you not give me that money so that I spend it duly, and guarantee for you upon Allah a palace better than this palace, with its young children and its servants, and its domes and its tents of red rubies, studded with jewels, its soil saffron, its cement misk, vaster than this palace of yours, indestructible, no two hands have ever touched it, nor was it constructed by a builder; the Glorious said to it ‘Be!’ so it was?’ (The young man) said, ‘Defer for the night and come to me early in the morning.’

Advice from Imaam Ahmad...

Photo
“It has been reported in a Hadith that when the slave begins to pray, Allah turns His Countenance towards him and He does not turn away from him until he finishes, or turns to the right and left.

It is mentioned in the Hadith that so long as the slave remains in prayer, he retains three qualities,
a) piety which is bestowed on him from the clouds in the sky to the parting in his hair,
b) angels surround him from around his feet to the clouds in the sky, and
c) a caller calls out, ‘If the slave knew in Whom he is confiding, he would never leave.’

So may Allah, the Almighty and All-Powerful, have mercy on the one who approaches prayer in submission, meekness and humility to Him, in fear and submissiveness, desiring (to please Him), dreading (His Anger), anxious and hopeful (of His reward), devoting most of his attention in prayer to his Lord, his confidence to Him and his standing before Him, his sitting, his bowing and his prostrating, for the purpose of which he empties his heart and strives to perform the obligatory acts which He has enjoined upon him, not knowing if he will offer another prayer after that one, or if he will die while he stands before his Lord, the All-Mighty and All-Powerful again, sad and pitiful, hoping that it will be accepted and fearing that it may be rejected. If He accepts it, he will be happy, and if He rejects it, he will be wretched.
