Belief in the Necessity of Loving the Companions of Allah’s Messenger (saws)

The Belief in the Necessity of Loving the Companions of Allah's Messenger (pbuh) and Honoring them.

The Muslim believes that it is obligatory to love the Companions of Allah's Messenger (pbuh), and his family, and to honor them above all others. Their superiority, virtue, and rank ranges based on when they entered Islam.

The best of them are the four rightly guided caliphs; Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, and Ali, may Allah be pleased with them all. Then the ten men foretold (by Allah's Messenger (pbuh) of Paradise; they are: The four rightly guided caliphs plus Talhah bin Ubaydullah, Az-Zubayr bin Al-Awwam, Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas, Sa'd bin Zayd, Abu Ubaydah Amir bin Al-Jarrah, and Abdur-Rahman bin Awf. Then the people of Badr. Then those who were foretold of their admission to Paradise, besides the ten; such as Fatimah Az-Zahra and her two sons Al-Hasan and Al-Husayn, Thabit bin Qays, Bilal bin Rabah and others. Then those who attend the Pledge at Al-Hudaybiyah; these were some one thousand four hundred Companions, may Allah be pleased with them all.

Similarly the Muslim believes in the obligation of respecting the Imams of Islam, since they are our leaders in religion and the beacons of guidance. These include the reciters, the scholars of Fiqh, the scholars of Hadith, and the scholars of Tafsir among those who followed the Companions' generation, and those who followed them.

The Muslim also believes that it is obligatory to obey the Muslim authorities and render them their respect, participate in Jihad along with them, perform Salah behind them, and that it is prohibited to rebel against them. In each category there are certain manners due.

The Companions and the Household of the Messenger of Allah (pbuh):

Excellence of Seeking Knowledge

http://img.docstoccdn.com/thumb/orig/129106248.png
Seeking knowledge – a cure for weak Iman

Seeking knowledge of the religion helps to achieve Taqwa (fear) from Allah and increases Iman. Allah said: “It is only those who have knowledge amongst His slaves that fear Allah.” [Al-Fatir (35): 28]

Generally speaking the fear is present in all believers. But the true and complete fear is present only among the people of knowledge, due to their knowledge of Allah, His Names and His attributes; they are the most eager among the men for the truth depending on the extent of their knowledge of Allah. At the head being the Prophets. Hence, when some people who took the knowledge to which, the Messenger of Allah (saws) was guiding to be insufficient and said: “We are not like you, O Messenger of Allah (saws)! Allah has forgiven your past and future sins.” The Prophet (saws) said, “By Allah! Indeed I am the one who fears Allah the most amongst you, and the most pious of you.” [Al-Bukhari]

Seeking Knowledge - Sign of a Believer
Knowledge is what distinguishes a believer from a hypocrite because he (a hypocrite) is abundantly acquainted of trivial things and various other useless facts, which do not benefit him, but when comes the understanding of Deen, he knows, not a thing. As also mentioned in the Book of Allah: "But the hypocrites do not understand." [Al-Munaafiqoon (63): 7]

The sign of a believer is that he is acquainted with his Religion and is constantly increasing his knowledge about subjects that benefit him and he is desirous of all that is good, as well as the gatherings wherein it is detached.

Don’t be Surprised when they Fight us !!!

http://history.skyforger.lv/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Baltic-crusade.jpg
The relationship between Islam and Kufr is a continuous cycle of confrontation and clashing and will never end. Allah informs us that the struggle between truth and falsehood will continue until the day of judgement. We have been informed that the Roman Empire i.e. the crusaders, will continue to fight with us century after century until the end of time and that the Muslims will be victorious and they will win the war at the end. Taking some of the examples in history we can realize this fact.
  • In 711 CE the Iberian subcontinent i.e. Spain and Portugal fell into the hands of the Muslims.
  • In 831 Muslims conquered Sicily and they became very close to conquering Italy.
  • In 869 Muslims conquered Malta.
  • In 921 Muslims conquered parts of Switzerland and didn't leave it until 1980.
  • In 1060 Roger the 1st captured Sicily.
  • In 1058 the Spanish took over Iberia.
  • In 1099 crusader king Godfrey took over Jerusalem.
  • In 1187 Salah-ud-Deen recaptured Jerusalem.
  • In 1291 the crusaders were kicked permanently out of the East.
  • In 1453 the Muslims launched another attack against the west and Muhammad Al-Fateh opened Constantinople.
  • In 1519 Muslims in the time of the Ottoman Khalifah went into Europe until they put Vienna under siege.
  • In 1798 the West launched an attack in a campaign led by Napoleon upon Egypt.
  • In 1800 Holland colonizers occupied Indonesia.
  • In 1869 the Suez Canal was opened during the Napoleon campaign upon Egypt.
  • From 1830 to 1935 the Muslims launched various attacks against the Western crusaders, including;

Celebrating a non-Muslim Holiday?!?

https://i.pinimg.com/originals/e2/1e/41/e21e41d0146b64fc04c04bac97333381.jpg

"Whoever imitates a people is one of them."

Have you ever wondered about the issue of celebrating or partaking in non-Muslim holidays, festivals and celebrations? What is the Islamic ruling regarding this? Is it permissible, is it disliked, is it impermissible? Is there a difference of opinion on this matter? Insha’Allah, in this short article, I hope that all of these (and related) questions will be clearly answered.

1. Greeting the Kuffaar on Christmas and other similar holidays of theirs is Haraam by Ittifaaq (consensus of the scholars), as Ibn al-Qayyim said in Ahkaam Ahl adh-Dhimmah:
Congratulating the Kuffaar on the rituals that belong to them is prohibited by consensus, as is congratulating them on their festivals by saying ‘A happy festival to you’ or ‘May you enjoy your festival,’ and so on…”

2. It is prohibited for a Muslim to accept invitations on such occasions, because this is worse than congratulating them, as it implies taking part in their celebrations.

3. Similarly, Muslims are forbidden to imitate the Kuffaar by having parties on such occasions, or exchanging gifts, or giving out sweets or food, or taking time off work, etc. because the Prophet Muhammad (saws) said:
مَنْ تَشَبَّهَ بِقَومٍ فَهُوَ مِنْهُمْ
Whoever imitates a people is one of them.
This Hadith was authenticated by a great deal of scholars including Abu Dawood, Ibn Hibbaan, Ibn Hajar, Az-Zarqaani, Adh-Dhahabi, Al-Haythami, Al-’Iraaqi, As-Sakhaawi, As-San’aani, Muhammad Jaarullaah As-Sa’di, Ahmad Shaakir, Ibn Baaz, Al-Albaani, Ibn `Uthaymeen, and others.

Ibn Taymiyyah, in his beautiful and monumental book Iqtidaa’ as-Siraat al-Mustaqeem Mukhaalafatu Ashaab’il-Jaheem (In Pursuit of the Straight Path by Contradicting the People of the Hellfire), said:
“Imitating them in some of their festivals implies that one is pleased with their false beliefs and practices, and gives them the hope that they may have the opportunity to mislead the weak.”
Therefore, whoever does anything of this sort is a sinner, even if he does it out of politeness, friendliness, shyness, or for whatever other reason, because this is hypocrisy in Islam and it makes the Kuffaar feel proud of their ways and festivals.

Please also take note of the following:

1. Remember the hadith of ‘Aa’ishah (ra) in Sahih al-Bukhari and Muslim where she narrated that on the Day of Eid , two young girls were doing a special performance for her (singing some songs). When Abu Bakr (ra) came to visit the Prophet (saws) and found these girls with ‘Aa’ishah (ra), he rebuked them harshly. So the Prophet (saws) (who had been facing the wall), said:
يَا أَبَا بَكْر, إنَّ لِكُلِّ قَومٍ عِيدًا, وهَذَا عِيْدُنَا
Abu Bakr, (know that) every group of people has its Eid  (festival). And this is our Eid.”
Eid is the name given to something which returns (Ya’ood), and is used to describe gatherings which happens repeatedly on a regular basis. Therefore, the Prophet (saws) clearly stated that the Eid of the people of Islam is the Eid (celebration) after Ramadaan and Eid at the end of the Hajj season. In addition to this, Friday is also considered a Eid for the Muslims, because it is a weekly gathering and is the best day of the week.

2.  The Prophet (saws) also explicitly expressed his desire to contradict the ways, celebrations, and festivities of the non-Muslims. In this Hadith that has a good chain of narration, as stated by Abu Bakr Al-Athram (ra), Umm Salamah Hind Bint Abi Umayyah (ra) said that,
أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يصوم السبت والأحد ، ويقول : هما عيدان للمشركين فأنا أحب أن أخالفهما
The Prophet (saws) used to fast on Saturdays and on Sundays, and he would say: “These are two days of Eid for the Mushrikoon. So I love to oppose them (contradict them, differ from them) in these two.”
So, for the pagans, Saturday and Sunday was a special holiday for them, a Eid. On these days they would party, celebrate, relax, enjoy, dance, sing.  And in and of itself, there’s nothing wrong with relaxing on Saturday our Sunday, but the mere fact that the Pagans used to do this, was enough reason for our beloved Prophet (saws) to differ from their practice and not imitate them and fast on these days (to show his indifference and his disregard for their Eid).

So, just to differ from them, to show that we’re different, to indicate that he, in no way, is taking part in their Eid, he would fast on Saturdays and Sundays. It is as if to send a clear message: “I’m not partaking in the Eid of Non-Muslims. I want to differ from them. I love to differ from their practice (of relaxing, enjoying, partying) on these two days.” So, even though it’s permissible to relax on Saturdays and Sundays, he decided to exert himself and fast on these two days just for this particular purpose.

Imagine what would Prophet (saws) would have said now upon seeing Muslims greeting and warmly congratulating the Kuffaar on their Eids?

What if he saw his Ummah actually having Christmas trees and lights, imitating the Kuffaar and making these Eids of the disbelievers a part of their lives?

Fully indulging, forget contradicting and trying to differ from them, the Muslims are not even shunning their practices, but are rather completely participating in their traditions! ”Followers” of Muhammad as they claim, but yet we see them exchanging Christmas cards and presents with the Kuffaar and making Thanksgiving turkeys. On top of all of this, they are even allowing their children to go and partake with the Kuffaar in trick-or-treating and Halloween-related events.
مَنْ تَشَبَّهَ بِقَومٍ فَهُوَ مِنْهُمْ
Whoever imitates a people is one of them.
So the above Prophetic words do not just apply, as some ignorant people misunderstand, to normal common things, like wearing a T-shirt, or tie, or sneakers, or driving a BMW or Mercedes-Benz SLR.  Rather, it also refers to things that are specific for non-Muslims and are well-known to be widely practiced by Kuffaar. For ‘Eids’ like Halloween, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, there is no doubt whatsoever that such Eids fall into this meaning.

3. Ibn al-Qayyim said in his book, Ahkaam Ahl adh-Dhimmah, “It is not permissible for the Muslims to attend the festivals of the disbelievers, according to the consensus of the scholars whose words carry weight."

The Fuqahaa’ who follow the four schools of thought have stated this clearly in their books. Al-Bayhaqi narrated with an authentic isnaad from ‘Umar ibn al-Khattaab (ra) that he said:
“Do not enter upon the disbelievers on the day of their festival, for divine wrath is descending upon them.”

And ‘Umar (ra) also said:
“Avoid the enemies of Allah on their festivals.”

Al-Bayhaqi narrated with an acceptable isnaad from ‘Abdullaah ibn ‘Amr (ra) that he said:  “Whoever settles in the land of the non-Arabs and celebrates their new year and festival and imitates them until he dies in that state, will be gathered with them on the Day of Resurrection.”

So yes, most definitely, as the Prophet (saws) told us, as reported in Saheeh Al-Bukhari:
المرء مع من أحب
A person will be with the one whom he loved (on the Day of Resurrection).
You will be with the one whom you loved. “Love” is not just saying, ‘I love Allah, I love Islaam, I love Prophet Muhammad (saws).’ Love is not talk. Talk is cheap!  Love is striving to imitate, to be like, and to follow the practices of someone or something.

Now, ask yourselves this: Are you imitating the Prophet (saws) more in your life, or are you abandoning his Sunnah? Forget about whether it’s obligatory or recommended. This isn’t a Fiqh issue. It’s an issue of: Do you really love the Prophet Muhammad (saws) such that you will strive to imitate him in every aspect of your life?  Or are you imitating the Kuffaar more in your life?  Do you imitate their traditions more than the traditions of your Prophet (saws)? Who do you wish to be resurrected amongst? You will be with those whom you love.

The Islamic concept of secularism “Al-’ilmaaniyah”

The Islamic concept of secularism “Al-’ilmaaniyah” is more general than the Western concept.
So if there is a person who’s calling to implement the sharia in his total, but he reject an issue of the Sharia that the Muslims agreed upon, and is known from Islam by necessity such a person is Kafir [disbeliver] and Murtad [apostate] so he will be known as Secularist “‘ilmaani“.

So for example if there is a person calls for implementing of the Sharia in the land, the economy, the politics, and in education but he says that the women and men are equal in heritage/inheritance, he becomes a Secularist and that is the Legitimate Ruling “al-Hukm Ash-Shar’i“, because he refused to implement a law of the Shari’ah Known From Islam by Necessity. So, this is the secularism through our terminology when we are talking.

The Ruling “Hukm” of secularism with this terminology is Kufr Akbar “Major Kufr” that will get a person out of the fold of Islam. Because they lie to [or lie about] Allah the Almighty and His messenger peace be upon him. It is joining Allah [in his Legislation] and He didn’t give the authority to do so, it is like some of the judgment is for Allah and other is for other than Allah.

Al-Wahn, A Deadly Disease!!!

http://www.muftisays.com/blog/files/275/IMG-20120602-WA0000.jpg

On the authority of Thawbaan, the Prophet (saws) said:
“The People will soon summon one another to attack you as people when eating invite others to share their food.” Someone asked, “Will that be because of our small numbers at that time?” He replied, “No, you will be numerous at that time: but you will be froth and scum like that carried down by a torrent (of water), and Allah will take the fear of you from the breasts (hearts) of your enemy and cast al-Wahn into your hearts.” Someone asked, “O Messenger of Allah, what is al-Wahn?” He replied, “Love of the world and dislike of death.” [Authentic Hadith recorded by Abu Dawud and Ahmad]

In attempting to contemplate on the meaning of the Prophet’s (saws) words in the above hadith, one quickly comes to appreciate the Prophet’s (saws) statement:
“I have been given words which are concise, but comprehensive in meaning” [Bukhari and Muslim]

The Messenger (saws) was blessed with the profound ability to utter several words which whole volumes could then be written about. In this striking hadith, the Prophet (saws) describes the situation of the Muslims with great accuracy, and also prescribes a remedy for the ailment.

The Feeling of Alienation…

http://www.coloria.net/dig.art/alienation/img/alienation3.jpg
‘...so do not be deceived by their movement throughout the lands.“ [Surah Ghafir 40:4. Activities not disciplined by fear of Allah may appear impressive but are, in fact, void of blessing in this life and the next]

Among the realities of faith and facts of life is this: the true adherents to the Straight Path of Allah (as-sirat al-mustaqeem) are a small minority, living as strangers in society. The reason is none other than the deviation of most of mankind from that Path and their excessive attachment to this world.

The Qur’an describes the majority of the earth’s population:
‘But most of the people do not know.“ [Surah Yusuf 12:21]

‘No, but most of them do not use their minds.”[Surah al-Ankabut 29:63]

‘Most of the people do not believe.” [Surah Ghafir 40:59]

“They are not except like sheep. No, but they are even more astray.” [SurahAl-Furqan 25:44]

The degree of alienation varies from time to time, place place, people to people for Muslims are a minority among the inhabitants of this earth, and believers are a minority among Muslims. Those of knowledge are few among believers, and those defending the Prophet’s sunnah are even fewer. In respect to this, the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said,
“Verily, my community among communities is like a white hair on a black bull.“ [Al-Bukhari]

Knowledge...

http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ly105z4ZGm1qi713so1_500.jpg
Shaykh al-Isalm Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullah) says “…the source of all good and blessings is that one seeks help from Allaah in acquiring knowledge inherited from the Prophet (saws), because that is what is truly fit to be named knowledge. Anything else is either not knowledge at all, even though people call it so, or it is knowledge which is not beneficial knowledge, in which case it is necessarily true that there exists in the inheritance of Muhammad (saws) that which replaces it, being similar to it or better than it. Thus, the person's effort should be to understand the purposes of the Messenger (saws) in his commands, prohibitions and his various other sayings.” [Abul `Aasim al-Qaasim bin Yoosuf bin Muhammad at-Tajeebee as-Sabtee al-Maghribee]

Muadh Ibn Jabal (ra), who was praised by the Prophet of Allah (saws) for his excellence in Deen, said: "Verily, when the people of knowledge will be present before their Lord, the Mighty and Sublime, Mu’aadh (ra) will be one step ahead of them." [Saheeh - Ibn Sa`d, Aboo Nu`aim, at-Tabaraanee]

He (Muadh Ibn Jabal (ra)) described knowledge saying: "Knowledge is a comforting friend in times of loneliness, it is the best companion during travels, and it is the inner friend who speaks to you in your privacy. Knowledge is the discerning proof of what is right and what is wrong, and it is the positive force that will help you surmount the trials of comfort, as well as those of hardships. Knowledge is your most powerful sword against your enemy, and finally, it is your most dignifying raiment in the company of your close companions." [Reported by Aboo Nu`aim]

Virtues of Patience...

http://islamicquotes.org/wp/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/sabr-patience.jpg

Patience Preserves the Health of Hearts and Bodies - By Ibn Al Qayyim

Ibn al-Qayyim said in The Prophetic medicine regarding patience: Patience is half of faith; for this is a quality composed of patience and gratitude (Shukr).

As one of the ancestors (Salaf) has said: Faith is in two halves: one half patience, one half gratitude.

And the Most High said:
"Indeed in that there are signs for each one who is patiently persevering and truly grateful" [Quran 14:5]

Patience in relation to faith is like the head in relation to the body. It is of three types:

1. Patience concerning the obligations (Fard) laid down by Allah, that one should not neglect them;

2. Patience in abstaining from actions forbidden by Him, that one should not commit them;

3. Patience concerning His judgments (Qadr) and decrees (Qadar), that one should not resent them.

Fake Salafis in our time claim that ruling by other than what Allah has revealed, is Kufr-Asghar!

They lie and attribute a weak sanad upon the great Sahabi, Ibn Abbas (ra). But again they are exposed.

An article by Sheikh Ali at-Tamimi and brother Abu Ayub al-Burqa’ee, brothers and sisters make Dua for Sheikh Ali at-Tamimi, who is now unjustly imprisoned for life in the US, may Allah protect him and save him from the hands of the Kuffar and ease his captivity-AMEEN!

Bismillah irrahman irraheem, wa bihi nasta’een:
An important point regarding my words that the Ayah in Surah al-Maa’idah is general in all the Muslims: Whoever does then he has ruled, and an explanation of it.

One may argue, that if this ayah is general in all the Muslims, then that means when a man commits fornication then he has ruled by other than what Allah has revealed.

This is true, and Ibn Hazm al-Andalusi affirms this principle in his marvellous book al-Fisal fil-Milali wal-Ahwaa`i wa-Nihal, where he says, “man fa'ala faqad hakam” (Whoever does then he has ruled), and it was this argument which the Khawarij used against the soldiers of Ali and Mu’aawiyah, they said that these people had committed sins, and whoever commits sins then he has ruled by other then what Allah has revealed, and whoever rules by other than what Allah has revealed then he is a Kafir, therefore Ali and Mu’aawiyah troops are a bunch of kaffarah.

That was their argument, and they argued by saying: “man fa’ala faqad hakam”.

And likewise today, some people may try to use this argument against us.

Fake Salafis in our time claim that Tawhid al-Haakimiyyah is a Bid’ah!!!

Photo
They defend those apostate rulers, who doesn’t implement the Sharia and force the Muslims to obey them.

Tawhid al-Haakimiyyah exposes the rulers Kufr-al-Bawah (clear-cut Kufr). Allah is Al-Hakim (The Judge) and it is one of His Noble Asmaa and Sifaat.

It should be understood that the current terminology and classification of the different Shari’a sciences mostly were not used by either of the first three generations or “the Salaf us-Saleh” at all. It would be rare to find any of them using some of the terms that are so common today such as “Tawhid Al-Uloohiyyah” or “Tawhid Ar-Robubiyyah” or “Tawhid Asmaa’ wa Sifaat”. Rather, we see them referring to Tawhid generally as one subject.

However, later generations divided these classifications of Tawhid for the purposes of teaching and categorizing the different aspects of Allah’s Tawhid. Some of them, such as Ibn al-Qayyim, only referred to two categories of Tawhid as he said, in his explanation of the Tawhid as it has come from the Qur’an in Surah Al-Kaafiroon and Al-Ikhlaas:
“…and they have both covered the two types of Tawhid, for which there is no salvation, nor any success without them. And they are Tawhid Al-Ilm wal-Atiqaad (i.e. the Tawhid of Knowledge and Beliefs)”, and he, may Allah be merciful to him, goes on to explain this category, until he said; “…and the second, is Tawhid Al-Qasd wa'l-Iraadah (i.e. Tawhid of Purpose and Intention)”, and likewise, he goes on to explain this category. [Badaa'a Al-Fawaa'id vol.1 p.145-146]
