INDONESIA - The Consequences of the Love (For You O Rasulullah)!!!

Narated By 'Abdullah bin Hisham: We were with the Prophet and he was holding the hand of 'Umar bin Al-Khattab. 'Umar said to Him, "O Allah's Apostle! You are dearer to me than everything except my own self." The Prophet said, "No, by Him in Whose Hand my soul is, (you will not have complete faith) till I am dearer to you than your own self." Then 'Umar said to him, "However, now, by Allah, you are dearer to me than my own self." The Prophet said, "Now, O 'Umar, (now you are a believer)." (Bukhari).

The news about the student brawl, that claimed one in Jakarta recently, erupted into an issue that is hotly reported by all of the National Media, the whole society and experts commented on the causes for the occurrence of the brawl and what harms are inflicted thereof.

Almost all of the student brawls started from a dispute between two students, so the mistreated one defends himself, then it leads to the defense of a best friend or to the defense of the group's pride, in fact even the school's pride. Yet it all started from a single upstream, a defense of one's self. Why are we doing the self defense? Because we love ourselves, we will not let anyone step on our prides.

In an authentic
hadith related in Bukhari and Muslim, the Prophet (pbuh) said:
"None of you believes until he loves me more than he loves his children, his parents, and all people."
(Bukhari and Muslim).

Then what if it is not yourself who is insulted? But it could be your siblings or your parents. Surely all parents will defend their children who are maltreated by other people's children. Even though our children started the mischief, we will still defend our children, at least by ensuring that they receive as light a punishment as possible. All this happened because there is love in every parent's heart, the love of parents for their children.

'Umar bin Al-Khattab (AR) relates that some prisoners were brought before Rasulullah (SAW) and amongst them was a woman who was frantically searching for someone in the crowd.

When she found a baby amongst the prisoners, she took it in her arms, cradled it next to her chest and suckled it. So Allah's Messenger (SAW) said:
"Do you think that this woman would ever throw her child into the fire?" We said: 'By ALLAH, Never!' So he said: "Allah is more merciful to His believing servants than that mother could ever be to her child." (Bukhari and Muslim)

A son would be angry if the name of his parents are mentioned without the adornment of “mister” and “madam”. This commonly happens among the children's naughtiness, a friend will be considered insulting our parents without including the honourable terms of address prefixing their names. Say that the name of our father is Hasan. If our friend only says “Hasan” instead of “Mister Hasan”, it is a deep insult, and how angry would we be with that act of our friend. Obviously, this reaction that we make is on the basis of love. Because love will defend, and fight for what our parents deserve.

What if the insult goes to Rasulullah (SAW)? What will we do when the person who tremendously loves us is insulted? Will we respond to his love with defense, or with indifference and silence?

The insult against Rasulullah (SAW) through the film “Innocence of Muslims” have received hard reactions from the Muslims all over the world, and in Indonesia. Muslims who have love for Rasulullah (SAW) in their hearts, are doing the defense with whatever they can do. Those who can Use the Hands will use the hands, those who can use the Tongue will buzz their voices out loud to defend Rasulullah (SAW), and those who can only make
du'a will pray the do'a in the one-third part of the night, with the weeping that is full of love for Rasulullah (SAW).

It is ironic when there are still many Indonesia citizens, who obviously have “Islam” stated as their religion on the KTP (identity cards), who are indifferent and not doing anything. The President is unconcerned, the State Officials are muted, and the Police even become enemies to the people who are defending Rasulullah (SAW) in front of the American Embassy. They denounce the
Mu'min on the basis of deceptive orderliness, on the basis of bilateral relations. Without realizing that they have prioritized America over Rasulullah, and they are raising high the human laws above the laws of Allah.

Is what the Qur'an mentions not clear?
"If your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your wives, your relatives, wealth which you have obtained, commerce wherein you fear decline, and dwellings with which you are pleased are more beloved to you than Allah and His Messenger and jihad in His cause, then wait until Allah executes His command. And Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people." (At Tawbah 24).

So why are they only silent today? Is there no love in them. Whereas, if the parents, children and their own selves are insulted, they get angry with the insults. Then why are the people who defend their Rasul labeled by them as anarchists, terrorists, intolerant, radical, and so on. Whereas, they always become anarchistic when their families and their own selves are insulted. Therefore, who is more anarchistic, those who started the insult, or the people who demand justice for their insults? All can be answered if there is love inside us. But love alone is not enough, we must understand the consequences of the love. The love for Rasulullah (SAW).

“Love does not teach us to be weak, but it generates strength. Love does not teach us to be humiliated, but it breathes courage. Love is not to weaken the spirit, but it uplifts the spirit.”
