Why read The Quran Chapter 18 The Cave (Al-Kahf)..?

OUR PROPHET MUHAMMAD (PEACE BE UPON HIM) HIGHLIGHTED THIS SURAH.

Stories in the Qur’an about past tribes serve as a guide to people from every walk of life. The lives of the prophets, their proclamations to their tribes, and their practices all act as examples to believers. Moreover, the Qur’an offers people signs about the future as well as some secrets that believers must meditate on. The Surah al-Kahf is one of these.

The Surah al-Kahf (Cave) was underlined by our Prophet Muhammad (SAW) as well as many Islamic theologians. The stories in this surah include many secrets about highly knowledgeable people, including the Prophet Dhu’l-Qarnayn, and signs concerning the endtimes. There are many stories about the deeds and sayings of our Prophet Muhammad (SAW) that point to the link between the Surah al-Kahf and the endtimes. Three of them are as follows:

"Whoever among you reaches Dajjal (the Evil Center), he should read far back and deeply into the Surah al-Kahf. The end of this sura will be your salvation from Dajjal."  (Abu Dawud)

".. whoever suffers the tribulations of Hell (Dajjal), he should plea to God for help and read the first verses of the Surah al-Kahf so that, as happened to Abraham, the fires will act as a cool balm and will provide safety." (Sünen-i Ibni Mace)

".. Whoever is tested and tempted by Dajjal's fire, he should plea for God's aid and read the first verses of the Surah al-Kahf. This way Dajjal's fire will be as a cool balm and will provide safety."

THE SURAH AL-KAHF CONTAINS SIGNS AND SECRETS ABOUT THE ENDTIMES
One reason why the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) recommended that all Muslims read the Surah al-Kahf is that it contains very important signs about the endtimes. This surah explains to Muslims how they can protect themselves against godless movements which will spread all over the world at the hands of Dajjal, who will appear in the endtimes, and also provides clues about how people can protect themselves against such rebellious movements which will eventually cause much suffering among humankind. Our Prophet Muhammad (SAW) recommended that people carefully read this surah so they know it by heart, which is a warning of the coming difficult days. Moreover, Muslims should carefully consider the way the disciples of Cave conducted themselves while living in a tribe of godless ones, the deep insights the Prophet Musa (AS) learned from a man who attained the mercy of God, and how the Prophet Dhu'l-Qarnayn established dominion over the world and spread the way of Islam.

Those who read carefully will see that this surah contains portentous signs concerning the days before the endtimes, the practices of God-denying people -who will be legion during the endtimes- and God's destruction of all these false systems.

This above-mentioned period is very close, through the will of God, and therefore it is extremely important that people should think deeply about this subject. Thus it is vitally important that Muslims should carefully think about the Surah al-Kahf and examine each and every verse in the light of other Qur'anic verses and bear this all in mind.
