Worship is for life, not just Ramadaan

What a blessing Ramadan truly is. In which other month do you see the mosques overflowing every night? In which other month are people so eager to read the Qur'an and learn its meaning? In which other month do you ever see people greeting strangers on the street? And in which other month are the majority of Muslims extra cautious of what they say and do? Surely, there is no month quite like the month of Ramadan.

There is certainly divine wisdom behind the obligation of fasting. Allah tells us in the Qur'an that He prescribed fasting in order that we become God-fearing; and we all become more conscious of God during hardship - while we are hungry and thirsty - and when we are united in our worship of Him.

However, now that Ramadan has gone, it's time to reflect and ask yourself some questions:

· What have I gained from Ramadan?
· Has my taqwaa (fear of Allah) increased, and am I more conscious of the fact that Allah is always watching me?
· Am I going to continue praying and strive to learn about Islam and what it means to be a Muslim?
· Have I stopped doing forbidden things, such as smoking, swearing, lying, listening to music, socializing and free-mixing with the opposite gender?
· Has my love towards the Muslims increased?
· Am I more aware of the situation of the Muslim Ummah today?
· Muslim land is under occupation, innocent Muslims, including women and children, are behind bars, our leaders are ruling by non-Islamic law and have thereby turned their backs on Islam - am I doing enough to change this situation and am I working collectively with a group of Muslims to work to establish the law of Allah?

Whatever good deeds you started to do during Ramadan, make sure you take them with you in the upcoming months. Verily, the good deeds (hasanaat) erase the bad deed.

The month of Ramadan should have taught you that our whole life is worship - every minute and every hour. And worship ('ibaadah) is not just to pray, fast, pay zakah and make the Pilgrimage to the House of Allah; rather it is everything Allah likes us to do, from our hidden and apparent sayings and actions. So anything you say or do, based on the Qur'an and Sunnah, is worship.

Let’s make it our aim to continue our good actions throughout the whole year and not just in Ramadan. If a Muslim continues to have the patience to do righteous deeds after Ramadan, this is a sign that his fasting has been accepted by Allah, the Most Generous, the Bestower of blessings.
The Muslim should make Ramadan an opportunity to turn over a new leaf by repenting, turning to Allah, persisting in worshipping Allah, always being aware that Allah is watching at every minute of every hour. So after Ramadan the Muslim should continue to obey Allah and should avoid sin and evil actions, as a continuation of the way he was during Ramadan and the things that he did then to draw closer to the Lord of creation. So don’t stop any of your good actions that you started in Ramadan, rather continue them until next Ramadan so by next Ramadan Insha'Allah you can add extra deeds to perform and these actions become daily actions in your life.

We ask Allah to keep us steadfast on this religion, to give us the patience to worship him, to guide us to that which is right, to give us the sweet taste of imaan, and to enter us in the highest levels of paradise.

May Allah grant victory to Islam and to the Muslims, and may He humiliate and put down the shirk and its people.

May Allah release all Muslims from the captivity of the Kuffaar, return them to their families and punish their captors.

May Allah give victory to the Muslims in Burma, Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, Libya, Syria, Chechnya, Palestine, the Arabian Peninsula, and in every province and may He destroy their enemies and shake the earth beneath their feet.

May Allah guide us to Islam and to fulfilling the obligations, commanding good and forbidding evil, and working collectively to establish His Deen, His Shari'ah, and His way of life on the earth.

ALLAH HUMA AMEEEEEEEN !!!
