Dawah Salafiyah

Da’wah is the art of making people inclined towards something, it is an invitation and a call, by definition it is a verbal and physical attempt to collect or gather the people together and make them inclined towards a particular thought, madhab or ideas.

“And who is better in speech than he who [says: "My Lord is Allah (believes in His Oneness)," and then stands straight (acts upon His Order), and] invites (men) to Allah's (Islamic Monotheism), and does righteous deeds, and says: "I am one of the Muslims." [41:33]

“Say (O Muhammad): "This is my way; I invite unto Allah (i.e. to the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) with sure knowledge, I and whosoever follows me. And Glorified and Exalted be Allah. And I am not of the Mushrikun.” [12:108]

“Invite to the Way of your Lord (i.e. Islam) with wisdom (i.e. with the Divine Inspiration and the Qur'an) and fair preaching, and argue with them in a way that is better. Truly, your Lord knows best who has gone astray from His Path, and He is the Best Aware of those who are guided”. [16:125]

References in relation to Dawah in the Quran are numerous and too many to quote in this article, however from the above mentioned verses the importance and necessity of Dawah is quite clear and plain to see, Indeed it was the primary role of the Anbiya (ra), the Prophets of Allah (swt) to call their people they were living amongst to Islam and to worship Allah (swt) exclusively without to associate any partners with Him (swt) and not worship any false deities.

Allah (swt) says, “And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (community, nation) a Messenger (proclaiming): "Worship Allah (Alone), and avoid (or keep away from) Taghut (all false deities, etc. i.e., do not worship Taghut besides Allah)." Then of them were some whom Allah guided and of them were some upon whom the straying was justified. So travel through the land and see what was the end of those who denied (the truth). [16:36]

Allah has given us in the Messenger Muhammad (saw) the best example to follow in how to carry dawah, Allah (swt) says, “Indeed in the Messenger of Allah you have the best example to follow for him who hopes in (the Meeting with) Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah much.” [33:21]

Indeed the Messenger Muhammad (saw) and the Sahabah were true to their covenant to Allah (swt) and were ever eager to obey Allah (swt) without to seek favour or fortune, for 13 years in Makkah they struggled against the polytheists in Makkah, exposing their degenerate and corrupt way of life, warning them of the punishment that awaits those that disobey and disbelieve in Allah (swt) but also reminding them of the great reward that awaits the one who worships Allah (swt) and obeys Him (swt), with this in mind and the command of Allah (swt), the Dawah of the Messenger Muhammad (saw) and the Sahabah took the form of a direct confrontation with the predominate falsehoods of the time and the people who carried, as Allah (swt) says,

“Nay, We fling (send down) the truth (this Qur'an) against the falsehood (disbelief), so it destroys it, and behold, it (falsehood) is vanished. And woe to you for that (lie) which you ascribe (to Us) (against Allah by uttering that Allah has a wife and a son)." [21:18]

O Muslims, it is a duty upon you to carry Dawah to society, therefore fulfill your duty to Allah (swt) and save yourself from the anger of Allah (swt).
